There are consultant nurses in the UK

Stop living in self denial

Check the screenshot below
It's a job adverts for a consultant nurse with specialty in breast surgery

That's directly from NHS UK

So I don't know the rubbish you are saying here man

You seem worst than the op

I'm very pro joseh or whatever the joint association of allied health workers is called. But you are very slow.

You most be extremely slow. How does employing a consultant nurse in a Breast surgery unit equals the consultant nurse doing the actual Breast surgery?

I have already proved to you consultant nurses who do perform surgery

You can keep your low mentality to yourself and live in self denial

I prove my point
Now you prove me wrong

It's left for you to counter it with verifiable facts
Until then don't quote me

I have warned you because it seems you are worst than the op in thinking and comprehension

You haven't proven anything. You only brought a screenshot with further proves my point.

The UK intended to start the program, after public uproar, most of the said training institution boycotted the idea.

Why can't you name one person who's a consultant nurse and does surgery and the program he/she graduated from?? You are really daft my guy.

This is another job adverts for a consultant nurse with specialty in general surgery

Stop being foolish
Nigeria won't be an exception
Doctors have done too much damage to be corrected

Soon we will start having consultant nurses and scientists

Keep living in self denial

I know you are not smart, but working in a general surgery unit doesn't make you a surgeon.

To first address your Ignorance about Pathology. They're currently one of the lowest Specialities with Infectious disease with consultants. They created Biomedical Science and Clinical Science for further trainings to meet up with demands and serve as Liaison between Science and Medicine.
HSST training is 5years for crying out loud and for your information this is the category D.Clin(Consultant in Clinical Science) work not MLS.D
*Clinical Immunology
*Transfusion Science
*Pharmacology
*Clinical Biochemistry
*Hematology (HSST is attached at the end)
A D.Clin can never be a
*Histopathologist
*Forensic Pathologist
*Surgical Pathologist
*Haematologist
*Immunologist
According to Royal College of Pathologist, only Biomedical Scientist are the non-medical professionals trained to have (FRCPath)

I already buttress my point with verifiable links

Did you see the reason they designed the Idea? Because Surgeons are not enough abi? In the US,Physician Assistants of speciality Surgery are allowed to perform Surgery under the supervision of a Surgeon. Are you telling me that because PA perform surgery under supervision they're now Surgeons. They do Laparoscopy, excision of polyps, close sutures and open walls of the body. Does this make them Surgeons?
Nurses performing Surgery hasn't been signed to Law. It is called Proposal. You saw in the posts "Nurses to Perform Surgery" not "Nurses do Perform Surgery independently". Once it is signed into Law they would be a Resident Surgeon who would monitor the surgery cases as to decide which case is fit for a Nurse Surgeon to performgringrin.
Remember we're talking Pathology and Laboratory Science don't digress.

No need to argue

Who said the program was not??

Which institution currently runs it? How many Surgical consultant nurses have graduated from the program? How many are currently practicing in a surgical center doing surgery??

The initial argument was that there are current practising consultant nurses performing surgery in the UK which is currently completely false.

This is wrong. Surgical PAs can Assist during surgery. They do stuff like the initial opening and closing, all what a nurse (RN first assist) can do. No surgeon will risk supervising a PA doing surgery, the malpractice allow, should anything happen is enough to discourage the most stupid surgeon.

What is it that you don't understand in Role and Specialities as I have rightly explained. Are you really this pained?
Which Buttress? You Buttress your point and you refuse to acknowledge that there's nothing like MLSD in the UK but D.ClinSci. You buttressed your point and refused to acknowledge that RCPath called them non-medical. You Buttress your point and you refused to acknowledge that they're majorly employed in Research Institutes, Universities and Pharma instead of Hospitals?

Even in the US, there are surgical PAs and NPs. It doesn't make them surgeons.

Now in the US, there's RN first assist, who works in the surgical room doing minor procedures and helping the surgeon. She/he has more legal right than An NP or surgical PA. It doesn't make them surgeons.

You seem to know more about the US which I know less of

As for UK
Consultant nurses who have undergone training in the Royal College of surgery can legally perform a surgery at the absence of a physician

It will be ages before nurses are licensed to perform surgery, and alot longer to do so independently

For the record, your professional (MLS) is just a technician with a bachelor's degree in the US. No one cares about a CLS degree.

All what is described here is what a RNFA does. PAs like some NPs can perform procedures only approved by a surgeon.

A surgical NP can still carryout the listed procedures.

What RNFA, surgical PAs and NP do is to assist, not the actual surgery.

Oga, go and do your research. Do you know what is takes to be an RNFA??

Typical, you would need a BSN, 2years scrubbing experience and pass the CNOR exams, RNAF are specialist nurses like NPs, CRNAs, CNW and CNS. Nursing the US is not limited to RNs and NPs and RNFA aren't just RN
