SPONSORED POST Fresh off its hiking of transfer charges on USSD and just over a year after the Nigerian government somewhat pardoned it for not paying over $2billion in dodged taxes, MTN is looking to drive Nigerian SMEs selling data and airtime out of business. https://thenationonlineng.net/mtn-wants-to-drive-nigerian-smes-out-of-airtime-data-business/ 13 Likes 1 Share

Imagine how much is deducted for borrowing #100 Airtime... or #200. where is the deducted airtime going?? Do they also pay tax on this deductions to the government?? ... one of such Telecom is even fund of stylishly compelling customers to borrow airtime 44 Likes 3 Shares |

Tell your FG to go and create their service provider for Nigerians. Because if you tell MTN to leave the country and foreign company will come as the "messiah" and eventually exploit Nigerians, perhaps even more. 16 Likes 4 Shares |

Is it by force to run a business the way competitors want? Whoever isn't satisfied should float their own? I wonder how Nigerians sit docile without being ingenious and try to bring others who have made it down. We had the same level playing ground with all these multinationals, but why are we not getting good results but try to frustrate their efforts. Dstv, Shoprite, mtn etc. Do they have two heads? 21 Likes 5 Shares |

The issue under dispute between EmptyHen and the Nigerian government relates to a fine which was imposed and not taxes...they're two different things! 1 Like 1 Share |

I blame the lazy and corrupt Mike Adenuga of Globacom for the audacity of MTN. If only Obasanjo had given that license to a more intelligent fellow and not a corrupt political front man like Mike Adenuga who couldn't even handle GLO network to stardom to check mate MTN. 21 Likes 4 Shares |

MTN & DSTV is just the one we know about. There are several others that are sucking Nigerians dry and treating us like SH!T even on top our money. We are living in a sold-out country. 4 Likes |

Yet, the regulators of the telecommunication industry would not deem it fit to give the matter the needed attention it requires. |

Bias report It is basically putting the power of purchasing recharges in the hands of customers. When u use the different channels available, there is no need to patronize the outlets who collect commission for selling recharge cards for commission. This is not MTNs issue but the future. Before you blame MTN How many of you still go to cafe to browse or use typists anymore? 14 Likes 4 Shares |
