That's why God's word said @ Revelations 18:4 "get out of her my people" because the Antichrist portrayed itself as the true religion and enslaved many worshipers of the true God during the dark ages! Matthew 13:25 compare to Act 20:29
But since you claim you know i'll leave you with what you think you know until you ask for divine wisdom! Matthew 7:7-9

When a farmer plant fine seeds in his good soil he will do his utmost to remove the weeds because weeds grows faster and much bigger than fine seeds if it's allowed to grow alongside the fine seeds.
Now Jesus said after the sower planted fine seed in his farm "an enemy came (when men were sleeping) and sowed weeds amongst the fine seeds, when the fine seeds prouted and start producing fruit then the weeds also appeared" {Matthew 13:24-26} now instead of the owner to order his servants to go and uproot the weeds he said "NO! you may mistakenly uproot the fine seeds along with the weeds, let both of them grow together until the harvest" {Matthew 23:27-29} ordinarily if this should happen literally the weeds will choke the fine seeds, that was exactly what happened!
After the death of all the Apostles (when they were sleeping in death) the antichrist began it's work, Christianity that wasn't commissioned to force people became a religion that goes from city to city killing people with the excuse that these ones don't believe in Jesus {Luke 9:51-56} they called themselves "CRUSADERS", they turned it to Politics {John 6:15 compare to John 18:36} they were hunting people up and down saying they catch witches and wizards, they were going from city to city killing people with the image of the CROSS as they go, the Christians who opposes this acts saying that's not the way of Jesus and his Apostles were tortured to death!
Gradually Christianity that Jesus commissioned with the aim of pleading (preaching) and teaching (only those who avail themselves for it) {Matthew 10:11-13} turned to oppressive wolves forcing people everywhere to accept and bow to the CROSS!
That is why the ATHEISTS today keep blaming Christianity for the death of millions who died in those days, whereas it was the ANTI-Christ that took over the affairs WHEN MEN (Jesus' Apostles who were the pioneers of Christianity) WERE SLEEPING IN DEATH! Matthew 13:25
So the ANTI-Christ simply means the spirit that took over the minds of people to do things totally contrary to what Jesus laid down yet they're doing so (in the name of Jesus)
