Rossniki:You can talk as much gibberish as you want, at the end every race shall be destroyed whether good or bad. Anything with a beginning has an end including this life and death. But for now we are mentally lazy to solve most of our problems take it to the bank....we'll rather wait for the United nation to come to our aid. Peace. |

stonemasonn: Speak for yourself, you nasty thing. Africa is developing fast, while a time waster and wastrel like you indulges in discredited racist garbage. And no. Every race will NOT be destroyed. Only those ''ruining the earth''. Revelation 11.18: ''I will destroy those who destroy the earth.'' ''The meek shall inherit the Earth'' - Matthew 5:5 It is ALL WRITTEN DOWN, WHAT WILL HAPPEN. You dare to have the effrontery to think you can ride roughshod over God's Beautiful Creation, looting, killing, burning, raping, and destroying whole continents, including Mother Africa, the land of the Gods, just to enrich your own race, and think you will get away with it? Yohnshogun: There are poor people everywhere even in US and Europe. To your question, Africans are poor because there must be poor people. Other contributing factors to poverty are bad governance, superstitious beliefs, lack of skills, and disasters either man made or natural. |

Africans are poor because of the following reasons 1 Having many Children that they cannot cared for. Always talking about Sex but not responsibility. 2 Always spending money they earn on liabilities rather than Assets 3 Africans don't have long term financial goal but short term 4 Supporting bad leaders into power and praying for good life like Southwest and the North bringing Buhari in 2015 and expecting a good Nigeria. China was in poverty but just one Child policy and hard work lift them out of it. 1 Like |

It's a black thing. Blacks are poor everywhere, including the so-called richest country, American. Blacks don't have a fundamental understanding of how the world works, they see the world from the master's eyes, that is why they lack the basics. |

Rossikki: Except they would have, The US alone spends 2 trillion dollars a year on social security for Americans. Blacks that tend to be in disadvantaged communities live on welfare. |
Re: Why Are Africans So Poor by Sladem05: 12:40pm On Feb 10 |
[quote author=Rossikki post=100773700] There are millions of children going to bed hungry in America every day you devil. Millions of Americans are homeless and sleep on the streets, in one of the world's most unequal societies. There are blacks harassed, brutalised, and shot on the streets daily by US police. Homicide rate is 60,000 a year in America. There is a terrible gun crisis there, and people walk into a shop and buy a gun with no background checks. Opioid addiction claims 70,000 lives a year in America, your country. You have MORE THAN ENOUGH ISSUES in your country to deal with, so get lost. If you care about 'Africans', deal with the structural racism against the 40 million people of African descent in your country before coming here to cry crocodile tears for Africa. SATAN. ''Caring about Africa''.[/quote That’s not even how you calculate homicide rate. US homicide rate is like 6 per 100,000 compared to Nigeria at 35 per 100,000 |

Re: Why Are Africans So Poor by efficiencie(m): 4:29pm On Feb 10 |
Yohnshogun: Most of Sub-Saharan Africa's population is poor because of the crabs-in-a-bucket and every-man-for-himself syndrome. Africans cannot work together to generate a solution that will end poverty. If you create a committee to pool funds from donors, philanthropists, faith-based institutions etc to provide solutions to the poverty problem in Africa you will find some Africans within that committee who will be hell-bent on stealing at least 80% of the money and doing absolutely nothing. I once shared an idea for pooling resources to start a business that could generate income for the participants. I quickly got responses from interested parties but I noticed that most of them wanted a few people to do the work while they reap the rewards. The initiative died not long after. 1 Like |

redsun: You are not correct. If this is true then how are African migrants in the US, Canada, and the UK becoming more and more successful? Many of them are Christians, Muslims, or religious in one way or the other so your point is not valid. Africans are smart but they cannot work together. An African can thrive if he is not surrounded by fellow Africans. I have noticed that even racists white folks cannot stop Africans from succeeding in other climes but a fellow African is always ready to betray his kith and kin for jealousy or greed. |
Re: Why Are Africans So Poor by efficiencie(m): 4:46pm On Feb 10 |
T8ksy: Do you think Europe can in this day and age plunder an African country's wealth without the assistance of African leaders? Look at Africa today. It is led by Africans but doing so terribly. Just take a look at Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, and South Africa. They are being led by Africans yet they are doing terribly. Nigeria was rightly referred to as the "generator republic" yet we have vast expanse of land in Northern Nigeria for solar and wind farms, vast water bodies and rivers in the South for hydroelectric power, vast reserves of natural gas in the South South of Nigeria and vast amounts of coal in Eastern Nigeria yet Nigeria generates and consumes less than 5000MW of electricity since 1958. This is a true testament to the two major diseases plaguing Africa - crabs-in-a-bucket and every-man-for-himself syndrome. Africans cannot unite on anything without one of them thinking of how to outwit and outdo other Africans. If you want to genocide any African country, all you need do is dump a truck full of fake dollars and a truck full of weapons in the heart of that African country and they will genocide themselves very quickly. 2 Likes |
Re: Why Are Africans So Poor by yemmit90: 4:48pm On Feb 10 |
Yohnshogun: Africans are poor because of their cultures and traditions( domineering culture and self elevations). Africans are narrow minded creatures who sees development as private property. Due to their cultural believes, an average African lacks basic principle of how society are organise. They lacks the seal to understand that it is much more better to apply wholistic approach to development than personal aggrandizements. The key point is that: an average African dont want his country to develop but only himself. He is fine as long as he has the resources to dominate and made other subjected to him alone. |
Re: Why Are Africans So Poor by yemmit90: 5:05pm On Feb 10 |
T8ksy: Please stop all this excuses and face the fact. You and I are the reasons Nigeria and Africa at large will remain poor till the end of the time. Majority of Africa countries broke free from these colonial masters as far back as 1950's, so tell me what has your brothers being doing with our common wealth to liberate African from being poorest creature on earth? If you are conversant with history and human nature, you will understand that Africans are not only living in a "state of nature", but state of perpetual fear and endless greed. When Greeks, Romans and Chinese were busy thinking of how to break free from this obsolete state of nature to modern societies, your Africans brothers were busy wagging war to capturing slaves and cities to dominate. To cut it short, our problem is cultures and traditions. |
Re: Why Are Africans So Poor by T8ksy(m): 6:05pm On Feb 10 |
efficiencie: I want you to check those European countries that are successful now and I bet you, they are ALL former colonialists. It's instructive to note that these countries are still keeping a firm grip on their former Colonies, albeit covertly, till date. Remember Indirect rule - the Brits did a study in the mid-40s (when it became obvious that they will have to give up their Colonies in africa) to ensure they keep their jolly on the Colonies. It was incorporated into our history school curriculum. I was in a sure question in our Waec exam, then. I remember doing a test on the indirect rule study in Nigeria and the result is what is panning out now. The French called theirs Assimilation. Do you notice what's going on in Francophone countries now. How France is still plundering those countries resources. For instance, there's this mineral resource abundant in Niger which is sold on the world market for $200 per lb but France, based on the agreement they signed with their former Colonies before granting them independence, only pay 80cents per lb! I will also like you to check out Haiti- yhe 1st nlack country to attain independence in 1804 from yhe same French country and am sure you will find out why that country is still very impoverish, over 2 centuries after the fact. Let me just stop here for now. Before I fo so, I leave uou with this quote from Wiston Churchill ......" For Europe to prosper, we must put disarray among Africans". |
Re: Why Are Africans So Poor by T8ksy(m): 6:58pm On Feb 10 |
yemmit90: You are talking from your level of knowledge which to me, is clearly limited. Majority of those African countries did not fight physically for their independence rather they were given it by their former slave masters. Nobody will willingly give up power if you know what I mean. The true leaders (african) who really meant well for their people were murdered and replaced by stooges who pander to their "kingmakers" or else they will be replaced with more amenable stooges. Idi Amin is a good example. Ditto the recent one with the Bongo family with the active support of France. Please research the Opium war and how the Chinese fought the brits to get their independence from them.Am sorry that you believe our cultures and traditions are responsible for our dire strait, extantly. |
Re: Why Are Africans So Poor by efficiencie(m): 1:49pm On Feb 11 |
T8ksy: Oga let's not fool ourselves. There is no firm grip by colonists on former colonies. Japan was invaded and occupied by the US for about a decade yet Japan has risen to become a superpower. Japan did not give excuses or whine and cry racism or colonialism rather they took their future into their own hands and made a powerful economy. At a time when other economies were struggling, Japan was considered an economic miracle growing at staggering rates. African leaders are incredibly corrupt. I once saw an estimate of about 600 billion dollars that Nigeria made from crude oil and all that money has been squandered away. The other day a top tax official claimed that over 10 trillion naira was spent on refineries that are not working. Tell me is that also the result of colonialism and imperialism? Over 10 trillion naira squandered by the very people elected to run the country and you are here pointing at the white man instead of pointing at the kleptocrats you voted into office. Nigeria has an inferred 2.75 billion metric tonnes of coal, holds over 180 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, has over 3800km of waterways that are navigable and we a vast amount of uninhabited land in Northern Nigeria that receives sunlight for about 8 hours yet despite all these immense resources hardly have we generated and consumed more than 5000 MW of electricity. Is that not the height of madness of a country? Yet you want to point fingers at colonists. Does that make sense. Singapore was colonized for over a decade until 1958 by the UK about the same era when Nigeria received independence and yet Singapore in recent times generates almost 13000 MW of electricity and it has a geographical size of 734 square kilometers and a population of about 6 million not up to size of Lagos state in terms of geographical size and population. We need to stop deceiving ourselves. We have deluded ourselves for far too long. We are the enemy of ourselves. We are the curse of the land. We are the reason Nigeria and indeed Africa is not working and will never work. There are at least twice as many Africans waiting in line to steal and plunder than there are Africans who are currently stealing and plundering. Many of us complaining about the hardship in Nigeria will do far far worse if we were allowed to lead. The old, young, men, and women are all corrupt in Africa. We deserve our leaders and we deserve the hardship because as a people we epitomize evil in all its ramifications. 1 Like |

efficiencie: Going by your closing statement that you bolded above, no point in this discussion as you have clearly opined that black people are all corrupt and as such can't doanything to better the lives of their people. Seems to me like the same narratives our erstwhile colonialists perpetuated to justify their barbaric actions in the black world. Even their Bible says as much - black people can't rule themselves. |
Re: Why Are Africans So Poor by efficiencie(m): 8:47am On Feb 12 |
T8ksy: See another proof to show that you Nigerians and Africans are a curse to yourselves. Did colonialists do this one too? Human rights activist and Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN Femi Falana, has claimed that in a 2020 report, the former Auditor General of the Federation disclosed that $4 billion from Nigerian reserves is missing and that $3.5 billion from an IMF loan was stolen. He added that Mr. Cardoso, the governor of the central bank, had admitted that $2.4 billion of the bank’s purported $7 billion in debt was unjustified. He stated further that the Supreme Court’s in a economic judgment had directed the Nigerian government to collect $62 billion outstanding royalties from six international oil companies. He urged the government to demonstrate courage and political will in enforcing the judgment and collecting the funds. He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”The report of the auditor general of the federation submitted to the National assembly in 2020 and on which no action was taken. The Former AGF revealed that $4Bn yanked off from Nigerian reserves cannot be located. And he also revealed that $3.5 billion loan taken from the IMF was stolen by yet-to-be-identified individuals. I’m talking of 7.5 billion dollars. The governor of the Central bank, Mr Cardoso has also disclosed that out of the 7 billion dollars alleged indebtedness of the bank, 2.4 billion dollars cannot be justified. I’m also surprised that my colleagues are not interested in the judgment of the Supreme Court on the economy. The Supreme Court ruled and ordered the government of Nigeria to collect outstanding royalties from the oil majors. But the government has not enforced that judgment of collecting 62 billion dollars from six international oil companies. I hope the government will have the courage and political will to collect those funds. Source |
