@Ruudie: wetin u wan know about dreamweaver make i see if i can help u. @Niceuzor: Nice there certain things u have to get familiar with before u can be a good design, photoshop or fireworks shd be on list, a knowledge of Corel D (good for arrangements and alignment). I encourage pple to know CorelD before thinking of Web Designing. Photoshop is a good graphic software to optimize pictures and resizing, |

@ nuckecy, thanx man, you too much . . . one of the things wey dey disturb me na sey, i dey try do a profile page like one wey we get here 4 NL, wey be sey if you no upload any picture the space no go just dey blank like dat, the program go put a default picture there 4 dat space . . . abegi, u fit help me!? |
Re: Using *Dreamweaver* (webdesign) by nuckecy(m): 3:21pm On Jul 19, 2007 |
Is it only one profile page u wan arrange or a site wit lots of profile page? 1. If na only one u wan arrange no need to look for a default pic, just give a dull colour wen u ready to fix a pic u can do that or create a picture script as <div id="MaPIC"> (no space) <img src="images/me.jpeg" width="80" height="73" /> (no space) </div> like such optimize a picture in photoshop or any app with a dull colour or a place art to take the place. When the picture u want to replace is ready just upload using the same file name it willl just take its place. 2. if na lots of profile pages is wat u want, its has to be handled by a database script like php/mysql. U need to have an idea of such. I believe i don give small help? |
Re: Using *Dreamweaver* (webdesign) by RuuDie(m): 3:29pm On Jul 19, 2007 |

Re: Using *Dreamweaver* (webdesign) by juintade(m): 2:20pm On Aug 03, 2007 |
@Jackelony the question is not which database, the question you should be asking yourself is which programming language are u looking into. PHP, ASP, ASP.Net, Coldfusion. After deciding what language you are going to program in you can then decided which database to use. For PHP you are better off going for mySQL For ASp, ASP.Net you are better off going for Access, MSSQL, Oracle I am currently use dreamweaver to code an ASP based site using Access database, but at the end of the day, the database structure and set up is done with the RDMS(Relational database Management System) and not within dreamweaver Just in case you are thinking of using ASP.Net, I recommend you download the free version of visual studio express edition from microsoft msdn website. @juintade Thanks for your insight. I must confess, i'm still new to this stuff and you seem well versed in it already. Would you mind mentoring me in this field? I really want to be good ASAP. I'm very commited. Please consider this request. |

@ Dreamweaver users, You can certainly optimize and increase your productivity in web development with the use of dream weaver extensions.Even dynamic websites can be a whole lot easier with server-side extensions.I once had to deploy a shopping cart for a clients website.I simply downloaded a trial version of Interakt MXkart shopping cart extension. Believe it or not i had a top notch shopping cart running in less than 24 hours.I saved my self about 4 days raw coding stress. These exyension will certainly increase your productivity and give your sites top notch functionality with the minimal stress. http://channelstv.com/index_view.php is an example of a project i've done in the past using dreamweaver,php/msql,phpmaker &a couple of extensions. For those new to dreamweaver, try to lay your hands a couple of books dedicated to dreamweaver, personally i have about 4 books on dreamweaver that i bought from amazon. |

@ all members Just a rough idea that struck me. why dont we all work together and produce some form of video tutorial to help the people new to dreamweaver. the video can be hosted via youtube, I am one of the few people that hate learning through books or long bnoring tutorials, just use books/prints for reference purposes. I am currently using Dreamweaver 8, might be upgrading to cs3 in the new year. Let me know what you guys think |
