Nigeria international Taye Taiwo has made the decision to leave Ligue 1 powerhouse Olympique de Marseille for Italian table-toppers AC Milan on a free transfer at the end of the season, L'Equipe reports.

The highly-rated defender has an expiring contract at the Stade Velodrome and has been linked with several major European clubs in the past few months.

Taiwo recently revealed that he had set his sights on a move to Serie A, and the left-back has now allegedly reached an agreement with the San Siro club on a three-year deal.

Nevertheless, neither party has confirmed the agreement as of yet, as both Milan and Marseille are fighting for the title in their respective domestic leagues and no official transfers are expected to be announced until the season comes to an end.

Milan are in the market for a new left-back because of the disappointing performances of Luca Antonini and Marek Jankulovski this term and they're hopeful that Taiwo will be the answer to their defensive worries.

The cra.p was probably written by a loser because they aint no way a mentally disciplined team will buy Taiwo for his ''defensive qualities''.He still needs to improve on this deficiency to compete with the best of the best.I'm not taking anything away from Taiwo but that statement i highlighted is laughable.
