Most of these Southern states governors are being hypocritical, especially those oil producing southern states robbing oil producing communities of the payment meant for direct interventions in their communities.

Cross Rivers State went through hell to get a substantive Chief Judge and Oyo state governor who sacked all elected Chairmen of 33 LGAs in one fell swoop at the stroke of a pen being among those Southern states governors calling for restructuring is an insult !

Why on earth will Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Imo and Delta states be leading in unemployment rate in the country despite all the billions they recieve as oil derivation funds? Is that wastage of resources caused by restructuring at the federal government level too.

Most of these states still run governance only from their state capitals and focus most of the development on the capitals leaving out other places. It happened during the tenure of HE Ibikunle Amosun who focused only on Abeokuta and literally left the other parts of Ogun state!

These governors can't even stand the LGAs yet they want to bully FG. They should embrace restructuring FIRST and as a matter of fact, should show first that they can restructure.

All other parts of the same state need development and there should be strong laws in place to compel even development at state levels . Governors should build secretariats in each of the Senate district and physically work shifts and rotate their offices quarterly among each of the 3 senatorial districts.

In Lagos, the governor work shifts between Marina on the Island and Alausa in Ikeja and I think he should have another office in Badagry to make it 3 . God bless Nigeria.

The never miss an opportunity to exhibit hatred for Buhari.
This is another manifest of Buhariphobia.

These governors have spent time and resources fighting against Local Government autonomy.
They have spent time and resources resisting judiciary independence.
They marginalize certain sections of their states; a typical example is rivers state where I live.
The governor carries out 80 percent of his projects in 2 out of 27 LGAs.

Yet they are crying to FG for restructuring.

They only deceive fools not everybody.

Restructuring is not feasible.

It sounds very good and hopeful, but won't work for a Nigeria. More than half of Nigerias States will be useless.

And states won't accept consolidation at this point.

Restructuring is fiction with regards to Nigeria. If 36 governor's were to vote on this, it's will fail woefully.

Some States in Nigeria are just local governments. If you remove federal funding from them they will become villages.

Ok ba. These northerners don't know what is happening self. If they refuse to listen to restructuring in national assembly,the next will be mass protest by southerners and some middlebelt people demanding for referendum.
These people with expansionist agenda are panicking .
After this mass protest ,they will beg for restructuring but we will reject it considering the fact that FG must have killed southerners during the protest .
NASS should act before is late.

Revenue sharing formula must be ablosihed and replaced with resource control. Let every tribe control their resources and pay tax to FG .

State police must be established.

Regional government along ethinic group must be established.

Those that are in the position of authority to make positive changes have refused to do so , yet they want masses to be law and abiding in hardship, sufferness and hunger. They want the masses to continue to live in abject poverty with this current fraudulent government system that favor only the elites.

I wonder what the mission of these is. Common restructuring (while maintaining the unity of the country) you people are fidgeting. Now if we clamour for secession you will still object. What are people afraid of? Are you afraid of losing the "power"? Well, not to worry, keep your power and if possible all the federal parastatals and positions to yourselves and allow every state to man their resources, cos we really don't care.

This unfounded fears shows how much they will loose should the country divide despite having majority of federal infrastructures in their states.

Lawan is on his own in this. Avoid regionalism my foot. People are wiser now. Why isn't he condemning killer herders when they were unleashing terror on our people in our own land? People are drifting towards secession but he's there condemning regionalism. He's still dreaming i guess. Somebody should just wake him up.

Its laughable to hear him say people should restructure their states first. I guess that's the word the northern elites have put in his mouth. This is a proof these guys are the elements opposing restructuring all along because they wanted to keep being on the parasitic side. I wouldn't know of other regions, south western States have always been restructured. There's Amotekun, there's common governance irrespective of party affiliation. Most of the things they do aren't announced in public. The intestate roads are being tarred to to ease vehicular movements. Now they're asking their commissioners of agriculture to come together and proffer a lasting solution to food scarcity in the region. These commissioners are of different parties.

If they don't welcome restructuring, its as good as saying every region can go their separate ways.

Lawal is senate president of the north. All his utterances since he became senate president have proven this.

Scrap The Exclusive List of the 1999 Constitution and

Limit Federal Government to Authorities and Responsibilities of Foreign Affairs, Militaries and Treaties sealing.

The Federal Government shall receive 10% of each State's Earnings to run its Duties

If you are the one enjoying the lion share of oil money freely , without suffering any environmental hazards or degradation, enjoying lion share of proceeds from NPA, FIRS, Customs, Immigration, foreign aids, foreign loans,more federal allocation,juicy positions in the federation,more states and local Government areas,all for the purpose of more federal allocations,etc why would you want to embrace a restructuring that may alter the status quo?

Oga, leave us like that. Let us restrutuce first and when we get there, we will now have more reasons to hold our Governors accountable.

My governor does not have access to fix security in his own state. Look at how the governor of Akwa ibom was crying becus they arrested people with Ak47 and fake military outfits and handed over to the police. Police got orders from Abuja to release them. The governor and his team tried reaching out to the central govt and no one listened.

Forget it, Governors are too ceremonial and only must bow to central govt. That is rubbish. The Governors are closer to the people. And must have more control. We don't want Governors ass licking central govt. No country runs this type of our system of govt ever. It is the most useless system.

My Governor needs approval from Abuja before he can do many things. We need approval from Abuja before we can build international Airport and link them out to the world. Total rubbish. Abuja will deny u that becus of ethnic games.

We want control of our electricity, water, railway, security, economy, loans, etc. We don't want this useless system where FG will take loan, and sight the projects in one region and ask all the regions to pay.

Oga, we must end this rubbish. This is pure rubbish. No county runs this type of useless system of govt. It can't last o. If we fail to do it, surely, the country will slip into chaos.

Look at the security problems everywhere. States are even scared of enforcing anti grazing ban. Do u know why? Becus the security is controlled by the central govt. States can't even execute their own laws. U don't know how helpless our Governors are. They are merely ceremonial heads o. It is why most of them just decided to sit and enjoy the money in it since they can't even do much without taking permission from Abuja and that Abuja will frustrate you.
