It works. It worked for me. Particularly if it's between boss and subordinate. I dated her for some years(I will not mention how long).

I can go out with enough confidence that someone is covering my back. She had the keys to my office and safe.

It's been working pretty fine for lots of people than you think. I know of Doctors married to their fellow Doctor or a nurse in same hospital. I have friends working at the Airport married to their colleagues. Some Organizations are so big that they shuffle Staffs so it's not a matter of you getting so bored of always seeing your spouse at work.
As long as it's not illegal I'm okay with colleagues dating. No limitations whatsoever when it comes to male and female relationship,co-op workers or not.
