21 Years In The Faith And I Have Not Tasted Alcohol by KNOWMORE56: 11:04am On May 23, 2021 |
Since I accepted the Lord as my Saviour, 21 years ago, I have stayed away from any form of alcohol. And one of the joyous things is that I have never fell sick at any time and the doctor said it is as a result of refusal to take alcohol. So, some days back, when I read the findings of a certain study about alcohol intake and the results... I said "no matter what some Christians may say in favour of alcohol intake, I'm convinced that alcohol is not for the heaven minded". Proverbs 31:4; You can check out the link https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&source=web&rct=j&url=https://www..com/talk/topic,498286.0.html&ved=2ahUKEwj4jIWKwd_wAhVUSsAKHXbKDVMQFjAAegQIBRAC&usg=AOvVaw2zdOYo7oNhziZFUPT8IFeV 1 Like |

Please tell them oh. Some would now ignorantly come and claim that Jesus used to drink alcohol, "but wisdom is justified of her children". God bless. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Re: 21 Years In The Faith And I Have Not Tasted Alcohol by MaxInDHouse(m): 1:36pm On May 23, 2021 |
This is really commendable! For Jesus said: "If, now, your right eye is making you stumble, tear it out and throw it away from you. For it is better for you to lose one of your members than for your whole body to be pitched into Ge·henʹna" {Matthew 5:29} though he emphasized that the intake of food or drinks doesn't defile you {Matthew 15:17} yet whatever debars your spiritual growth you should avoid it completely! Matthew 19:12 The highlighted has nothing to do with the heavens because Jesus is the leader of all those going to heaven, and he drank alcoholic beverages (but responsibly) Luke 7:31-35 compare to Deuteronomy 14:26 However you've done well for avoiding what is disturbing your spiritual growth! quote author=KNOWMORE56 post=101978064]Since I accepted the Lord as my Saviour, 21 years ago, I have stayed away from any form of alcohol. There are more praiseworthy testimonies. The most excellent is ...... I have led xyz amount of souls to Christ. That is the only testimony that brings rejoicing in heaven. |
Re: 21 Years In The Faith And I Have Not Tasted Alcohol by Kobojunkie: 1:47pm On May 23, 2021 |
madegreatbygrace:That is still not praiseworthy and for two good reasons... 1. No man can lead another soul to Christ. Only God can do that and this according to Jesus Christ Himself. 2. We are not rewarded for the x amount of souls we claim we win for Jesus Christ but instead for doing the Work that God has commanded of us... Matthew 25 vs 31 -40. My issue with the OP is he pretend that drinking of alcohol can hinder his entry into Heaven, which is not true since especially in the New Covenant, we know that nothing we eat or drink can make us sinful in the sight of God. |

Of course Jesus drank alcoholic beverages but he drank responsibly. That's the import of what he said next: "wisdom justifies" those who knows how much to drink, when to drink and under what condition! Luke 7:35 compare to Proverbs 23:20-21 jesusjnr2020: |

KNOWMORE56: Jesus that came from heaven converted water into wine. He also drank it. Which other 'heaven minded' are you talking about? 18 “For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’ 19 “The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Behold, a gluttonous man and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ Yet wisdom is vindicated by her deeds.” [Mat 11:18-19 NASB] Even Paul told Timothy to take some alcohol. 1 Timothy 5:23, NIV: "Stop drinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illnesses." That doctor of yours is probably halfbaked. |

Some people will go to church and share this as a testimony and some ignorant ones will be applauding them. Some don't drink alcohol but are masters in drinking Coke and other poisonous beverages with high sugar contents. Many foods we consume today contain a lot of chemicals or even fats which are harmful to our body system. This is the root cause of many internal diseases that kill people today. Many have died untimely cos of high content of such poisonous foods and drinks in their system. When one accumulates such deadly foods without cleansing or detoxifying it, the immune system becomes weak and unable to help during long time illness. The major reason many die untimely Alcohol or gin not beer is the most powerful cleansing agents our Creator gave us to fight such internal problems. It's a natural cleansing agent we met here on earth for that purpose. In the olden days when there were no doctors or hospital, alcohol mixed with the right herb can cure any sickness. A little alcohol in the morning can stop stomach problems. It can cleans your system from all acidic and poisonous food that cause internal problems. Do it moderately maka ndu gi. It is too much of everything that's bad. Everything our Creator gave us is good 1 Like |

jmoore:Where did Jesus Christ, the New Covenant agreement between you and God, declare to you that drunkenness is a sin? Where in the contract that He gave you did He spell out this sin Do you not realize by now that it is an even greater sin to add your own definition of sin to God's Law? . Those who do this curse themselves because they nullify the Power of the Word of God in their lives by doing so - adding to or removing from God's Law -Mark 7 vs 1 - 23 |

Kobojunkie: GALATIANS 5:21 "envy, drunkenness, wild parties, and other sins like these. Let me tell you again, as I have before, that anyone living that sort of life will not inherit the Kingdom of God." Learn to study the Bible very well, please. I don't like needless debates. 1 Like 1 Share |

jmoore:Pay close attention ! Jesus Christ, the one who profess is your savior, is the New Covenant Law of God where the Kingdom of God God concerned, and so, no man, not even the man who wrote the letters to the Galatians, has the authority from God, to define for anyone who belongs to God that which is or is not Sin. If God never declared it a sin through Jesus Christ, then it is not a sin where those who follow Jesus Christ are concerned. So, again... Kobojunkie: |

Re: 21 Years In The Faith And I Have Not Tasted Alcohol by Kobojunkie: 11:57pm On May 23, 2021 |
jmoore:And this because all persons who get drunk end up driving? Anyways, what I said about Jesus Christ being the Law of God and the only arbiter as far as sin is concerned is very true. That is why Jesus Christ declared that those who love Him are those who submit to and obey His commandments, the Truth of God. |
Re: 21 Years In The Faith And I Have Not Tasted Alcohol by KNOWMORE56: 10:34am On May 24, 2021 |
Kobojunkie: Well, you surely know what transpired in the story that led to that statement. The Pharisees condemned His disciples for EATING WITHOUT WASHING HANDS. Jesus then stated that EATING WITHOUT WASHING HANDS is not a sin. His statements is not in any approve intake of alcohol. Neither does His statements certify eating with unwashed hands. Christians must necessary avoid whatever will affect their health. I wish you Heaven at the end of your journey! |

KNOWMORE56:please stop believing the doctrines and traditions of men over the Truth of God. Jesus Christ made it more than clear to us all that it is not what you eat or ingest that makes you sinful or unclean or defiles you but what comes out of what is stored up in your heart. Believing that something is to blame for your sin is a well known form of delusion. Believe instead the Truth of God and be made free from slavery to sin and all associated delusions. |

Kobojunkie: It is not good for christians to drink wine and I'm convinced about it. *. Proverbs 31:4 "KJV: IT IS NOT FOR KINGS, O Lemuel, IT IS NOT FOR KINGS TO DRINK WINE; nor for princes strong drink:" *. Revelation 5: 10 "KJV: AND HAST MADE US unto our God KINGS and priests: and we shall reign on the earth" *. Revelation 1:6 "KJV: AND HATH MADE US KINGS AND PRIESTS UNTO GOD and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen." note: IT IS NOT FOR KINGS TO DRINK WINE; AND ( Jesus) HATH MADE US KINGS AND PRIESTS UNTO GOD Kings and priests are not allowed to take alcohol: *. Leviticus 10:8 "KJV:And the Lord spake unto Aaron, saying, 9 KJV: DO NOT DRINK WINE NOR STRONG DRINK, thou, nor thy sons with thee, when ye go into the tabernacle of the congregation, lest ye die: it shall be a statute for ever throughout your generations:" I'm going to use this opportunity to post many things the Lord has helped me to know about alcohol intake: those to take, those not to take and the reasons. 1 Like |

True christians are: 1. Peculiar people 2. Priests 3. Princes.... Whoever understands and values these exulted positions shall willingly and happily bid alcohol goodbye. And the grace of God is sufficient... *. 1 Peter 2:9 "KJV:But ye are a chosen generation, a ROYAL PRIESTHOOD, an HOLY NATION, a PECULIAR PEOPLE; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light" |
