It has most times been the solution. Go and study Yugoslavia, USSR, Sudan, Singapore....they would have been worse off if they remained. Tell be a country that broke out that's doing worse than when it was in its former country? SangoOlukosoOba: 3 Likes |

The fulanis can not allow such a demand, so the only solution is to divide the country. Some people fail to understand that fulanis will never suspend 1999 constitution go and write it down. 2 Likes 1 Share |

I THINK CONFEDERAL STRUCTURE or Confederalism is good for Nigeria. That is a loose union. That was the demand of Ojukwu in Aburi, Ghana before the barrel of the gun started banging from both sides of the River Niger. IN A CONFEDERATION, the component part will have more autonomy to run their administration without the other regions stopping ones growth. Confederalism will give each region the autonomy its so long for. 4 Likes 1 Share |

DMerciful: That's an assumption that it would have been worse since it does not exist for comparison. Between Sudan and Nigeria, which one would you go for? What's with Singapore in your examples? |

Singapore separated from Malaysia, how are they doing today? Far better than Malaysia. It is not an assumption because if you take Yugoslavia for instance, the 8 countries that came out are doing better than Yugoslavia. Tell me a country that broke out and became worse off? somehow: 1 Like |

tishbite41:But not as one country, their situation then wasn't like that of Nigeria. If you notice, most of the countries that broke out of USSR are not known for anything worthwhile. They are not exceptional either, all of them are not in the league of a model state. |

DMerciful: While I said their status then isn't same as that of Nigeria. Singapore then was like a country on its own until the British criminals merged them together with Singapore. But there was no country like Oodua, Fulani, Biafra etc when the British criminals formed Nigeria. More reason I don't think the comparison is justified. I still support Regional system of government or True federalism. |

Change your mindset! Secession is not declaration of war. Just like divorce, couples can separate peacefully or through violence, their choice. There have been countless countries that broke out without firing a single shot! Yugoslavia and USSR broke up without a single shot being fired and they broke up to over 20 countries YoungLionken: 3 Likes 1 Share |

DMerciful: Doing better in what sense? Can you back this up? Yugoslavia on its own is not even a country known to have the resources to cater for those countries that broke out and all of them put together aren't even a model to look at when it comes to prosperity. |

The Southern Protectorate was like a country with its govt. The Northern protectorate was also like a country. They were merge together for Britain's benefit. Also, the Benin kingdom, Oyo empire, Kanem-borno empire etc were like countries then and they existed for thousands of years alone before British came so why are we afraid to stay alone? You seems to be avoiding Yugoslavia and USSR, why? somehow: 4 Likes |

A Part of a Country willing to seccede has the right to do so Peacefully through Referendum .It happens in Chekslovakia ,It happens in U.S.S.R . Seccesion does not Destroy anything ,No part of the Country is Blessed with Everything, Almighty God has Distributed things in Creation in such a way that Exchange should be done .There are Agricultural Product so much in the North ,Cattles etc ,In the East They are Advancing in Technology and many items Manufacturers .In the west You see awesome Adminstrative Prowess etc .So the Exchange Continues . 2 Likes |
