Twitter needs Nigeria 1,000 times more than Nigeria needs Twitter.

And if any of the platforms refuse to comply with Nigerian law, they will be kicked out of the Nigerian market.

Now run along and go sing for your white master, little slaveboy.

How much did they pay you to display such brazen stupidity?

Foolish administration throwing tantrums at industrious billionaire kids whom have made them selves and people around them rich. They give jobs globally which this administration still struggles to do within her confines, because corruption and their genotypes are symbiotically related. Pushing these social media apps away will only push us backwards and won't stop facebook, Instagram and the rest from exploring.
Can somebody, pls help me explain all these to those confused aged monks we call leaders

Do you think these guys care? They don't care about the economy or unemployment. So far twitter not having their African Headquarters here won't stop them from stealing, they are not pained.

Twitter, facebook or instagram don't need you. They are on their own jeje when you buy data from the telecommunication companies in your country to access their platforms. These old men don't know how the internet work. They wants to eat from another man's innovation.

Dumbo, Nigeria is Africa's largest internet ecosystem, with an estimated 150 million users.

To say the above firms don't need that market is a sign your education was wasted, and you need to go get a refund.

Biggest middle class in Africa and biggest economy in Africa, with an annual GDP of 1.16 TRILLION dollars per annum, calculated by PPP (Purchasing Power Parity).

Twitter, by comparison, earned 1.2 billion dollars last year.

That is chicken change for top Nigerian business conglomerates, not to mention the Nigerian govt.

Twitter is shiit compared to Nigeria.

And how much of that money gets into the hands of the majority who are living below the poverty line?
A lot of businesses get their customers on social media especially Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.. it makes sense for government to think about the people when dealing with issues.. the sensible thing is to first threaten to ban.. Twitter would've reached out

Do Twitter is an invisible ant compared to NIGERIA.

Come up with your source and let me post mine, pathetic slave of the Fouta djalion terrorist.

Look at the image below, happened minutes ago. That's how you deal with a man that threatens your fundamental human rights. But Nope, pathetic slaves of a terrorist like you would even kill your own blood to please your oppressors.

You dull finish!! If twitter needed Nigeria in any form, the regional headquarters will not be sited outside Nigeria. Besides over the number of idiots that have complyed with that stupid order is negligible. Millions are still using it. Only influential who major claints are Nigerian politicians are crying about the ban

] International drug dealers need markets in certain countries and they do not have headquarters there .So?
Having headquarters located in any country only makes a company liable to local laws and taxation
They would like to be invisible and anonymous whilst making money.
So it is good for companies, from their perspective that they can milk a country without any physical presence something some of these big companies are seeking to do

Nigeria is a large developing country, so it will have poor folks for many years still. If those platforms you listed refuse to comply with Nigerian law, they will be kicked out of the Nigerian market. Numerous other apps will take their place. The Indian - built platform, [kooo], is already making inroads to Nigeria following the Twitter ban.

I hope Nigerian youth know this that this is not a war that the government is waging against Facebook, Twitter or Instagram, it is against the very people who use these platforms most often: the youth. If they can successfully take down social media in Nigeria, they want to do anything possible to stiffle press freedom, and consequently put a peg on the ability of the youth to grow and challenge them.

As the age of social media and information technology is making people less dependent on the government and tapping from endless opportunities in these digital channels for their economic and social lives, Nigerian governments, being a despot they are, are becoming agitated by the prospect of this trend making them to lose control over the people they have surpressed for so long.

#June12Protest is a must.

Sadly this is a prayer that helps no one.

A building that took a year to put up can be knocked down in 6 hrs tops.

Buhari has already destroyed the economy and most Nigerians are suffering in ways they have not experienced since he was in power in the 80's and you are saying that the remaining two years should pass speedily. In six years they have destroyed 1000s of businesses and you are saying they should do quick and leave. LOL

Who even told you that they will leave in 2023?

We are already in military rule in case you haven't gotten the memo

JaneYave:
These people have found a perfect way to divert people's attention from their failures. A government that is bent on development won't have time for this. May God fast forward their time speedily!

Dumbo, did NNPC build any giant headquarters in China despite China being our biggest oil buyer?

Siting your headquarters somewhere does not mean that that is where you make the most money, or else Ghana would be Number 55 on the list of African nations to site Twitter HQ.
