iamyemiakins:Well, that's how the human economy works. Certain things will just be valued more than others. But most times it's because of the scarcity of that thing that value is added to it. We can all bone diamond in Africa and maybe value something else. But in time, these white people will easily manufacture that thing and then it loses its value in the world economy. So sorry, diamond value is here to stay along with gold, silver and other rare elements. |

Watch how the Western countries will come in to "steal" Botswana's wealth with plenty English and Harvard, MIT etc. trained mercenaries (some Blacks whose loyalty lies with their White slave masters).. They will buy the diamond cheap in Botswana's currency (not dollars), take it to America, Canada and co. to process and then sell it back to Africans (even Botswana) at extremely high prices, of course using the dollar exchange rate. Africans wake up and think.. Africa is not poor as IMF and co. are making it look, it's foreigners that are coming to take everything away. Africa ronu o! Over half of the World's wealth lies in Africa. One of the reasons they wanted Adesina out of AfDB because of his stand that Africa's resources must be processed in Africa and sold to European countries to strengthen currencies in Africa. Our mumu don do. |

NwaIgboBoy: If you say Africa is cursed, it also means you too is cursed because you are an African. The countries you look up to today were cursed with disease, ignorance, superstition and bad leadership for thousands of years. The people finally came together and fought for a better life instead of throwing their hands up and scream "we are cursed". 4 Likes |

TheGiftedOne:Africa only supplies the world with raw materials. We don't produce, at least not at the scale of those countries mentioned. The problem is a finished/end product will always be more valuable than, raw material. It's the difference between the profit margins and labour of a farmer, and that of a fastfood joint. And the only reason these mineral resources in Africa are valuable, is because of the demand from these manufacturing countries. Otherwise we don't seem to be seeking value in them. Even the simple brown silica sand in our houses can be turned into something of value in the right hands. 1 Like |

IMAliyu: Brown silica in your house will not turn to something of value by itself, it would need first and formost knowledge on how to turn it into something of value and then machinery and capital. First our knowledge base is faulty as African to to school to learn to speak English and acquire administrative knowledge to serve the western demands and needs. Then we have not even started the road to industrialisation by building relevant infrastructures. Finally, the capital for developing the relevant manpower and building infrastructure is just not available. So we are confined to selling raw materials without adding any value. 2 Likes |
