post=102937700:There is no part of Onitsha that I don’t know, we do a lot of business with big pharmacies in Onitsha. The big chain of pharmacies in Onitsha is Pax Pharmacy with its headquarters in Awka road. I have managed reps and followed them to the general hospital in Awka road, st. Charles Borromeo hospital on limca road, Iyi-Enu specialist hospital in Ogidi-Nkpor road, one big catholic hospital at water side (I can’t remember the name). I also spent a lot of time at the pharmaceutical open market at head bridge. So there nothing about Onitsha you want to tell me that I have not seen. I have lodged severally in different hotels in GRA. I have visited awka many time (particularly Anambra state university teaching hospital and some few pharmacies along zik Avenue and Aroma junction) Awka is a small town abeg. Forget the 3 flyovers on the expressway. I also visit Nnamdi Azikiwe teaching hospital in Nnewi from Awka. We passed through Agulu, Adazi-ani, Neni and Nnobi. Nnewi na developed village. I know Anambra cos I have transversed all the states in Nigeria. I Was a national sales manager for a pharmaceutical company, so there’s no where in Nigeria I don’t know. Don’t come here and be giving us bobo. Stop hyping mediocrity 5 Likes |

Honestly all these tribalists should take a chill pill Abeg. Off course it is understandable that Lagos would lead in terms of start up and the bulk of the start funding is in Fintech which is understandable that Lagos would come first because the Financial capital of the country judging from the location of all the Bank's HQs is in Lagos. This is not a big deal at all, if anything am disappointed it came late we have been losing our lunch to Johannesburg and Nairobi for a long time. |

Workch: Lagos is a state Awka is a town. Show me how Ikeja can match with Awka in terms of development index leave out the federal infrastructures there. |

obynzo:What are you talking about? Aside the 3 flyovers on the expressway, what other substantial infrastructure is in Awka? That small town. Abakaliki is even Miles ahead of Awka. The only capital city Awka is better then in the east is Umuahia. I know every nuke and cranny of southeast. Enugu and Owerri by Nigerian standard are very much deserving to talk about. Abalaliki in recent time is growing fast. 2 Likes 1 Share |

obynzo:Yes, it's disappointing - but sadly unsurprising - that this hasn't been the main topic of conversation. As welcome as these numbers are, they are nowhere close to what would be possible if the FG were run by people who weren't completely ignorant of both basic economics and modern-day business. There are 3 things that would make a huge difference to Nigeria's tech sector in the short-term, none of which this government even has the first clue about: 1. Abolishing the multiple-exchange-rate regime and allowing the Naira to float. This would ensure foreign investors that any money they bring into the country could be taken out as needed without forcing them to take huge losses. 2. Rolling out fiber-optic networks connecting the major cities. This could/should be done by private-sector investors, with the FG only helping to ensure they can easily get right-of-way permissions. The perfect place to lay out such cabling would be right alongside the newly renovated railway lines. 3. Removing price controls on (at the very minimum) business-rate power supply, chopping up the national grid into multiple local ones, and then selling off the pieces to deep-pocketed international investors in public auctions, instead of local-champions who won't have the funds to build out or even maintain what they buy. Do just these 3 things, and both Lagos and Ibadan can start aiming to reach the heights of Bangalore, instead of being content to remain local champions. Within 10 years I guarantee tech would be bringing in at least as much foreign income as oil currently does, and probably even 2-3x more. Companies like Facebook and Google didn't even exist when Buhari was first president, and yet they now earn more in a quarter in profits than Nigeria does in oil revenue in a single year. 3 Likes |

Workch:I live more than 18 yrs of my life in west I know all the states in west except Ekiti state, I relocated to east 2015, it baffles me how you guys over hype most of the states in your domain especially Oyo state, Ibadan is an eyesore to any sane mind, the first day I visited Ibadan I was shocked will the level of dilapidation in that city I spent close to 2 weeks, very disorganised, beggers littered the whole areas, if thoroughly you have been to east and you said Onitsha is just market it clearly shows you are a pathological liar, How about trans Nkisi,Housing, 3-3 , Nkwelle , GRA, Awada Obosi etc are those areas markets? Ogbaru, Nnewi, Ogunike are industrial areas say the truth, I know you an envious mind but it doesn't change the facts that your states minus Lagos is below Anambra state 1 Like

post=102940051:Lol, stop telling me about Onitsha. That place is very disorganized and a typical 3rd world city. I am not saying that some cities in the east are not Ok. I prefer Enugu, Owerri and Abakaliki to any part of Anambra. These 3 cities are head infrastructurally 1 Like |

post=102940051:The only livable/fairly serene places in Onitsha are GRA, Trans Nkisi. The remaining parts are huge disorganized build-ups of 3-5 story structures with noise and chaos everywhere. Awada and Obosi that you are mentioning have disgusting inner roads that will spoil your car. A lot of people living there prefer to use SUVs cos of bad roads. Iweka road, Owerri road, fegge, Nkpor and Okpoko no be places na. Na just cluster of storey building with poor infrastructure. |

post=102940051: You lived more than 18 years surely holed up in the markets which which are basically where Igbos use most of their lives.Go out, strech your legs and do real travelling. You are ignorant.Everybdy knows that Ogun state is very much developed than Anambra either in industries, educational facilities, modern housing etc. Ogun state has the biggest estate in Afrca which is touted to be the size of Onitsha. Igboland is backward compared to the SW that is why you always post pics of the few GRAs you have in Igboland from multiple angles. This is the Ogun state's biggest estate in Africa... 1 Like |

I should think it pays more to concentrate on long term development not short term gains kidnapping school children, blowing up oil facilities that damage where you live and attacking police stations wrapped head to food in cowry shells and feathers. |
