Sure there were no cops in the days in which the story is set but soldiers where effectively doubling as a civil law enforcement. Jesus supposedly died by the hand of the soldiers after manipulating events to force that conclusion. That is essentially "suicide by cop".

I came across two ladies who identified themselves with a popular penticoastal church in Nigeria. After series of preaching urging me to accept the white jesus who died for my sake and reject the devil who is responsible for all the evil in this world.
