You are right. That's because we allowed it to be so because we denigrate cattle business in the South. Outside Nigeria, there are many tribes that engage in cattle businesses. Let many of our youths in the South also become herdsmen. I am telling you, this normadic cattle business is lucrative. Our jobless youths on Southern Nigeria can tap into it now that the Federal Government wants to subsidize it heavily. The gracing routes are for herdsmen. Our unemployed youths can as well become herdsmen to occupy the grazing routes in their communities. The Federal Government has not come out openly to state that the grazing routes are for the Fulanis. They say it's for the herdsmen. We can also (as youths in the South) become herdsmen. "Cunning man die: cunning man kill am". I hope you understand.

Besides, grazing routes will not allow cows to move into cultivated sedentary farms. Vehicles have roads they pass through. That is why they don't veer into people's homes.

The FG said it's to reduce and stop clashes between farmers and herders (fula:nis ) so that indirectly means the gra:zing r:outes are for the herders ( f:ulanis ).

There are already Southerners who rare and sell cattles and have ranches. So stop saying rubbish.

Let your own children aspire to be mili:tant herders.

The plan is to give these herdsmen a permanent foothold in the states wherever RUGA is established. 30 or 50 or 100 years from today, they shall have grown large enough to challenge or even displace indigenous people of the entire state. Don’t forget that every RUGA settlement will become a home for every Fulani; local or foreign, Nigerian or Malian or Nigerien or Congolese.

Credible intelligence have it that crisis in Mali arid regions between herders and farmers was as a result of extreme change in weather patterns.

Currently the arid regions are getting less water meaning that migration to areas with good amount of rain is important.

Regions from Mali, through to Chad, Niger and northern Nigeria are not exempted. The Chad basin have experienced lower frequency of rainfalls than normal.

When you put all these together we can see why the push for grazing route is just an artificial mechanism to fix migratory herders from other African regions who are now stationed in Nigeria.

I used the word artificial mechanism because naturally migration is part of human survival, then we have peaceful existence of persons. But it's not in the case of Nigeria.

All pointers in the current crisis have a deadly mix of what some might term conspiracy theory such as islamazation agenda, forceful take over of ancestry lands and few others.

In every conspiracy theory there's always elements of Truth, it's for this reason I dont see the situation getting better soon in Nigeria.

As it stands every form of democratic levers must be cautiously utilized since one party will disregard any rule of law because this is survival to them.

While to the other party, as you beleive in rule of law you must also be vigilant and work towards creating frameworks to check mate the excess that would come from those who see their survival as essential.

The Buhari government is somewhat sentimental about the issue of cattle grazing...
In the report, it was said that the reason the cattle owner cannot afford ranching and that in the meantime we should continue the open grazing....what a stupid argument from our political leaders! If Aboki suya can afford to rent space or shop along the street, I don't see any reason cattle owners can't rent some ranches across the state ...
The cheapest cow is sold for 120k each...there are some business-owners whose value of the goods in the store or shop is not more than 70k and yet and still paying rent...
