Do you know that, at the instruction of the Buhari administration that all dilapidated federal highways across the country should be fixed, the Federal Emergency Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) began the rehabilitation of the Owerri - Okigwe - Ihube federal road in Imo State, and the total rehabilitation was completed in May 2019, following which it was commissioned for motorists to use? Prior to that, the total collapse of the road led to the stagnation of economic activities along that axis, but after the road was fixed and reopened, economic activities boomed back because of easy movement of goods between markets.

Is there another Owerri-Okigwe road that was completed in 2019? I posted a lamentation in Novemberr 2020 after passing through that road which is arguably the worst road in the world. It will be an insult to roads to even call it a road between Owerri-Okigwe. Below was my assessment then in another thread here:

Besides that Owerri-Okigwe road is a perpetual torn in the flesh of that region cos it never stays fixed for long. Another perpetual torn in the flesh of that region is the Owerri-Aba road and Owerri portharcourt road

Owerri-Okigwe road is what we have and that is a State road that ended at the Okigwe roundabout of the Enugu-Isiagu-Lokpanta-IHUBE-Okigwe-Umuahia-Aba-PH highway, which is a federal road and its under rehabilitation though.....
