IPOB: Ibo Group Presses For Mass Murder Charges Against Nnamdi Kanu


The Ibo Peace Forum (IPF) has reacted to recent security operations in the country, especially the rearrest of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

Addressing pressmen during a solidarity rally in Abuja, Comrade Emeka Daniel Okpara, (IPF), the national Coordinator, said Ibo citizens were concerned that certain individuals had taken up arms against constituted authority, leading to loss of lives and property of innocent citizens, adding that "we all remember how one individual could order from abroad attacks on government formations, killing hundreds of innocent people".

Recalling how the IPOB had caused the death of hundreds of people in the south east region, the group maintained that the only way government could console Nigerians was to bring the perpetrators to justice.

He said: "Now, with the arrest of Kanu, appropriate charges of mass murder should be pressed immediately .

"It is the prosecution of these criminals that would give credence to our sovereignty and restore confidence in the masses. The activities of IPOB are giving innocent Ibos a bad name and endangering their livelihood in other parts of the nation.

"The department of state security has, by this successes, lived to their constitutional role of defending the nation. Let those arrested face the full rath of the law," the group insisted.
