Did you say close to ordinary $1trillion dollars since oil exportation began? Oh dear lord!!!

Nigeria made $206billion dollars from crude sales within 2015 to 2019 alone. That is just within 4years!!!!!!, 4years alone and this is according to opec.
The $1 thrillion was a conservative estimate. Niger Delta cities should be rivalling Amsterdam,Vienna,Miami,Berlin if fund were judiously used and they received there fair share.

Niger Delta leaders at local, state and federal level are fantastically corrupt and make Lawrence Anini and Shina Rambo look like saints. That is why we need to support the provision in the PIB bill for 10% of revenue to go directly to the oil producing communities.

Even with the 10% it will still be misappropriated from the head to the bottom. Just imagine what dey did to the billions given to odi community as compensation by the goodluck government, they embezzled everything and shared pinnuts, money that was enough to transform the entire Odi to a city.
Destruction of the poor it's his Poverty indeed...

grin Nobody will give 10% that will end up as idle funds in Texas Bank like that of late Gen. Azazi . He that's not faithful in little won't be faithful in many. Besides, PIB is not only about tax and extra-constitutional payment that can be challenged and quashed by the courts. The original 13% derivative is for the host communities but governors hijacked it and started using it for buying loyalty through political patronage. That 3% alone is a lot, some communities are very few in population and the children don't go to school again because of this oil free cash mentality

Very true..very very true. Nigeria leaders as a whole has been so so wicked and unfair to the people of the Niger Delta, no deliberate, sincere and strategic plans to develop the region. Though the Niger Delta leaders (both political, traditional, CDCs and pressure group leaders) are also not free of this guilt.

This one is surviving. Loads of people from the Niger Delta area had moved to settle in Abuja and and in the SW region.

A recent BBC documentary says infant mortality from oil pollution problems in the Niger Delta is at an alarming rate.

See what i am seeing. This is so disturbing and sad.

When the poverty stricken, backward and cursed north, keep looting the Niger Delta oil money to sponsor bokoharam, using it to pay bandits as ransom.

Fucck north.
Very unfortunate, Niger Delta doesn't have leaders. No governor, senator or rep or any other political office holder. Only northerners have those political office holder.

Abject poverty is not peculiar to any region in Nigeria.

Rather than condemn those responsible for this ubiquitous problem, he decided to drag a whole ethnic group through the mud.

The above is the reason why the East has more enemies than friends

How many more decades will oil still be relevant in the world market. The Niger Delta sellouts like Asari Dokubo and Tompolo that sold their souls for pipeline security contracts should have this in mind.

Niger Delta should be one of the most developed areas on the African continent with close to a thrillion dollars pumped from the ground since 1956 when oil was first discovered in Oloibiri,Bayelsa state.

Very soon my brother the sons of Niger Delta (not Tompolo) will rise

Collect your destiny from your criminal tyrannical Governors of the South South, your chiefs , the Niger Delta Development Agency, the Ministry for the Niger Delta who are swimming in Billions while the poor Niger Deltans starve.

I know the leaders in the communities will steal it. At least rhe locals will know who to hold accountable and they will only have themselves to blame for the under development.

All the money the oil companies gave them were looted. The Chiefs mostly demanded always cash instead of infrastructural projects.

So who will arrest them if it is sauandered, FEDERAL GOVERNMENT?

All I'm saying this old people are very dubious. If you keep saying we should respect our fathers, we will not see anything from this country oooh, whether ibo, yoruba, hausa.

You don’t give what you don’t own.
The PIB and the so-called National Assembly which put it through are all charades.
The NASS overpopulated by Arewa from the too many states littered by Arewa soldiers in every nook and cranny of the old northern region.

The oil wells are in the Niger Delta. The people of the Niger Delta ought to tell you outsider how much they can give you as you being their co-national.

Forget the bragging of Muhammadu Buhari who said the elders and youths in the Southsouth have assured him that they want to remain in Nigeria. The more than 50 years tea party of Arewa with resources from the Niger Delta is about to end. PIB my foot.

The time has come to end the brutality against the people of the SS - undo the amalgamation of 1914.
Arewa can’t continue to hide under sovereignty of Nigeria to rape whole ethnic groups in the south to comatose state.
