It is the leaders of the SE that have, more than even northerners, made Igbos "weak" in the Nigerian state such that some minorities even seem more significant than them.

You're correct. SS Governors are balanced guys and able to incorporate progressive ideas, even if gained from others, into their leadership to deliver for their people.

The SE Governors are the worst and highly incompetent and unprincipled.

They will be the ones to betray the South when issues are critical. As it is, Yorubas and their leaders are fed up. We don't want to be held back by the gradualist and Conservative North anymore.

No beef with anyone, but the views of the Yorubas is that others, especially the North, must now show they are dedicated to progressive politics rather than the clannish, ethnocentric and feudal administration that has taken Nigeria backwards over many decades now.

Real shame Awolowo never became President but then again it is obvious some people would never have allowed him. It is the offspring of those people, with the same backward mindset as their fathers, the Yorubas are now determined to tackle once and for all.

All of these are just noise used to deceive the gullible masses. We had 3 regions then 4 in the first republic. There was corruption and strife. We had 12 states. There was corruption and strife. We had 19, then 21 then ....all the way to 36 states. There is still corruption and strife. We have had civilian, military, mix military and civilian, presidential system, parliamentary system....in all these there has been corruption and strife.
When will Nigerians finally understand that the problem is not the system of govt, it is the practitioners of that system. If you have regional autonomy tomorrow, you will still have Tinubu's in the SW, Kalu's in the SE, Ibori's in the SS, Gado Dollar in the NW.... Nothing will change. Untill the rule of law is firmly established in this country nothing will change.

Each regions will deal with their problem. Issues like Fulani heardsmen wahala will be put to an end.

This is what the south south and particularly the south east should also call for to avoid the north dictating what happens all over Nigeria both when they are in and out of control of the federal government as president.

The north has an undue political advantage over the rest of the country due to their uniform language and religion and large population... Worse more, majority of them are uneducated and believe too much in violence

The country should be restructured so that the north can do what they like while the rest also do what they like.
