Inasmuch as i am not a fan of this Senate this to me is a good move the way parent push their ward and school with double promotion i taught in school i saw this first hand i am not excusing some students they are brilliant but their IQ alone is not enough EQ is also important and social quotient is key as life skill we are in information age now they can pick bootcamp course and learn other things such arting, coding, music even sport such as chess, basketball or football the human mind is awesome they can bring out the other gift they have inside of them e.t.c IQ alone is not enough to survive in this world now a lot of them the Elite now take their ward to play football at different football academy . the bill should be altered to add 1year of COMPULSORY vocational learning or ICT learning or sport academy e.t.c well 17 would be Ok let them develop their EQ nd SQ (social quotient ) by theory and practical 1 Like 1 Share |

How do these people reason You'll just sit in your yeye chambers and be deliberating nonsense. If you fix a minimum age of 18 for university admission, what happens to the millions of students on course to finish their secondary education before they turn 18... Are they expected to just stay at home till they turn 18... |
Re: Senate Proposes 18 As Age For UTME Candidates by Fedrams: 3:39pm On Jul 13, 2021 |
Misplaced priority. Someone will now gain admission into a Nigerian University at 18 for a 4-year course and spend 6+x years...graduate at 24+x, do a year NYSC= 25+x. S/he would then apply for a job that requires a 23 year old graduate with 5 years experience!!! |

How many of their children attend secondary or high school in Nigeria? This is a ploy to drag the south back. Good news. I hope it does not affect the private universities. |

This is good. Many kids need mental maturity to survive in UNi. It’s the same in Ghana. Although Hhana education system is very difficult compared to Nigeria |

Our leaders and legislators are disconnected from the reality of the common man. Little wonder they make laws with their heads stuck in the clouds. |
