idtwo:NO. Purely on that amount! You see, it's a long story! I grew-up very poor, I actually did not know much about the luxury of life. When I started working after my NYSC, I was earning about 11k per month (private organisation), I was trecking all over the town and also going further in my education, then after my second degree I got a better job of about 40k per month and now I am in a place where I earned around 200k per month. Luckily for me, I married somebody that is absolutely un-materialistic, we could go for months without buying new cloths and there will be no issue, she does not use jewelries and as long as what she wears on her feet protects her feet, she is OK 16 Likes 1 Share |

Chinny024: Lol, the amount you quoted is also struggling, I earn more than that as a single guy, I don’t smoke, womanise nor do pass myself but it’s still the same. The cost of living is really high this days 2 Likes |

Some of this people mentioning 200-300k monthly salary are all liars. It seems the Nigeria you are living is different from ours. Don't come on nairaland to intimidate people earning far lower than you. If we had your type of connection things would have a lot more been better for us. 15 Likes 1 Share |

Sharmeenator:about my rent: if you read through the thread you will see where I said something about my building and my rent too. I also mentioned somewhere that I have a kid. For the land and building, I really can not say much other than that I was involved in contribution (that type of contribution where you collect on rotation). For the car, I was saving about 100k a month, I sold some things too together with cooperative loan (I think, honestly, it took me like two years to fully own the car o ) I do not have any other income aside salary, though I am seriously thinking of getting one now. 3 Likes |

For a family of six like mine, 500k monthly pay will go a long way. School fees and rent are my major headache. 1 Like |

I earn about 450k. It can rise above 550k depending on overtime payment and other allowances. My rent in a 2 bedroom apartment is 350k. I pay 70k monthly allowance to my wife and I have three children in primary/secondary schools. I really do not have any savings due to high monthly bills. Fortunately, i am building my house in the Lekki-Epe axis with extra income from side hustle and that has been my consolation for now. When I was working as a security guard with a 45k monthly salary, i thought I'd be more comfortable if I have a job that pays me 100k monthly. Now i know better 13 Likes 1 Share |
