Thats what I am praying for, I want the south to lose the 2023 election because those people that doesn't want Oodua believe the southerners are the next president so things can change a little but once we lose that election their last hope is lost.

Because foolish southern politicians allow one Nigeria to continue after northern military dictators wrongly used land mass as criterion to restructure Nigeria, created excess number of states in the old northern region, and in the process assigned overwhelming political power and shared revenue to the north.

They think that Britain is ever ready to forcefully keep Nigeria one.
They show photos of British PM laughing to Buhari, show off British PM telling Buhari: we are ready to help.

He's right, you can't force anybody to vote for you, we Southerners are our own problem.

Qatar, UAE, Oman and the rest are doing better because they don't have much differences between them, their population are less and their resources are evenly distributed.
Why can't we do the same here? Lagos, Rivers, Enugu and even Akwa ibom would have gone far if we are a Confederacy like the US, Delta and ibadan also.
Why must we allow the Not abi North to draw us backwards, why can't Lagos be given special status like Hong Kong?
Break Nigeria up and you'll see that Nigerians are not as lazy as south Africans.
If at least each state was allowed to control it's resources, ibadan would still be excelling in Cocoa business, Enugu will not be a "coal city state" without coal miners, Delta/Benin with their gas deposits and talented youths will become More useful to itself other than bending on laptops and traveling overseas.
How about Rivers? Akwa ibom is doing great with meagre federal allocation and 3 percet derivation, how about when they control their resources?
We all know this but we all choose to be unfortunate to ourselves in servitude to the "Economic barren but politically Engineered North".

You are a wise person?

Seriously that's my prayer and even any southerner person becomes president...they will still be dealt with for all they have done to south for the past 8yrs...so they cede power or not, which ever option they choice, it's for our own benefit

When Buhari contested like 3times with all northener in support, did he win if not for the sake of southerner. The man think all northerner are in support of the bullshit that power must remain in north. Beside if nobody should force one another it's better we go in separate way or back to regional system by that time you will use your regional money to solve the insecurities you created with the intention of looting.

Let there be two presidents in 2023. One for the North and one for the south. The north should vote for the president from the North while the south will vote for the president from the south. Let there be competition for good governance for eight years in both regions.
After eight years, we can now resolve the issue of who leads better. The region that witnessed better governance within the period of trial should be allowed to produce leaders in future elections, hoping and praying that Nigeria will still remain one country
Just amend the constitution to make this possible.
Why is no one talking about opting for the Swiss collegial executive system in Nigeria? The multi-cultural nature of Switzerland opens up a lot of opportunities for us to apply here.

You people should stop saying Tinubu betrayed the south by not supporting Jonathan. Tinubu then was an opposition leader(ACN) and the aim of any opposition is to win power by all means. Had Jonathan performed up to expectations, Buhari wouldn't have been an option, so please leave Tinubu out of this and blame Jonathan who underperformed.

The Tinubus, Fasholas, the Osinbajos, etc, in the south who say Nigeria does not require any more political restructuring are the problems of the southern regions in Nigeria.

The North used its military dictators between 1967-1996 to restructure Nigeria politically, supervised a constitution with no plebiscite. The skewed and lopsided political structure and constitution assign near veto power to the north over Nigeria’s political process.
The north now asks the southern people asking for political restructuring to come to the NASS to ask for political restructuring, the NASS overflowing with Northern legislators deriving from the excess number of states created in the north.

THE NORTH IS SILENT BUT IS NEVER STUPID!

In the whole 8years of OBJ's administration he did not see a single Hausa/Fulani northerner worthy of appointment as Service Chief, IGP or DG (DSS). Victor Malu, Martin Luther Agwai, Jonah Wuyep, Luka Yusuf, Ibrahim Ogehi, then IGP Tafa Balogun, Musliu Smith, Sunday Ehindero, Mike Okiro up to the DG (DSS) Col. Aare (rtd), were his selected appointees to oversee our security architecture.

Where appointments were to be made from Kano or Sokoto (whole seat of Chaliphate) he would look for the Adamu Baikis, the Solomon Matankaris who are indegenous Christians of the area. If Hausas/Fulanis complained, Obj’s response was, “all the appointees were your people, brothers from the North”. Of course they were; he even used sme tactics to play a very dangerous divide and rule politics with northerners; his arrow - headmen, Jerry Gana & Solomon Lar were part and parcel of the Villa cabals, members of his kitchen cabinet who determined most appointment made by the government Agencies. Google all the very sensitive position then, there was no single Hausa or Fulani there. CBN, Joseph Sanusi later Soludo. Custom Buba Gyan, NNPC Edmund Dakoru, to mention just a few.

Never forget that OBJ flushed out more than 500 soldiers of Northern extraction, from the ranks of Major and above, who held political appointments during the past military administrations, including orderlies and ADCs. Those who survived his hammer, like Bamalli Nuhu were assembled and bombed in the mountainous region; between Benue and Cross River States.

Obasanjo’s civil service reform were mainly targeted at northerners who mostly, (80%) became victims; from NEPA,Maritime, NPA and Aviation etc. Northerners were major casualties. Similarly all the replacements that followed were from his kiths and kins, and his god sons.

Prior to 1999, more than 15 international airlines operate or had their routes to Kano, but Obasanjo made sure he decimated that to only 3 before he left. Very very fresh in our memories is how he stylishly killed all the Northern textiles, groundnuts and cotton pyramids as well as many other agronomic economies; particularly the poultry using the hoax claim of “birds flu” conspiracy that obliterated all major players in the sector, from northern region. He also deliberately opened our boarders for the importation of all kinds of agricultural goods, which tactically killed virtually all local industries in Kano, Kaduna, Gusau to mention just a few. He stated and ensured DIC and Peugeot and Steyr plants became comatose.virtually all critical northern enterprises were put out of business with deadly attendant consequences.

For example, in Kano alone there were more than 5000 factories / industries located in Challawa, Bompai and Sharada industrial estates. Before Obj’s tenure ended he made sure 80% of those factories folded up, and the remaining 20% were operating at half level, below minimal capacities due to his well designed, well executed, skewed economic policies.

Remember the housing, monetization and privatisation policies he used our people to execute? This program was conceptualised and well executed to basically empower his kiths and Kins to owned choice properties in Abuja and Lagos. The privatisation was used to catapult cronies and surrogates, as well as God sons, into multi-billionaires. People like Mike Adenuga, Fola Adeola, Jimoh Ibrahim, Jim Ovia, Chris and the Andy Ubahs, to mention just a few.

Most of these people were, prior to 1999, using night buses to & fro Lagos/Abuja. Incidentally within a span of short period, all were flying private jets, while the country, North in particular was rapidly sliding backwards. One can continue on and on; why the north and northerners tolerated all that, only God knows.

The current clamor for self determination by some states from previous regions are nothing but blackmails that, to me, are dead on arrival. Rather than experiencing the Obj treatment again, it suffices if every single region go its separate way. The north can not afford to make the 1999 blunder again. Democracy is a game of numbers; anybody who thinks he/she is competent to lead us should come out and contest. The north is not ready to concede to any blackmail.

No I reject your submission, instead let there be 36 presidents one for each state, local government should be converted to state government and wards should be converted to local government I so humbly submit.

We maintain the current structure where the president controls all the resources in his domain.

It's a pity that we don't read anymore. What the guy is saying is the obvious truth. If you want to rule, play the politics. Convince everyone either the north or the south that you are the best candidate. Presidency doesn't come on a platter of gold. You have to earn it.

You cannot force a voter to choose a candidate that is not his choice, just because the candidate comes from a particular region of the country.

As much as his comments irk, he's saying the truth.

In a democracy, one region cannot ask the other to, in literal terms, vote only a president from their region based on some undocumented, rational, agreement that is not in the law.

This is a wake-up call for the south and middle-belt: GET YOUR ACTS TOGETHER AND VOTE SOMEONE THAT YOU KNOW AND TRUST.

Also, get your PVCs and vote en masse. The northern region might rely heavily on underaged voting and other manipulation, but the south can counter that by getting as many eligible voters that they can. The south is more than the north in numbers (unofficially, I know).

We need a president that will work with God to heal the ethnic and religious cracks that have seen our dear country become a mockery.

It is well with Nigeria!
