The same reckless indecent exposure that makes films and musical video to be sanctioned by NBC is the same being promoted on this show and that itself is not fair. If the show wants to air, it can do so without the indecency. I am not against the show but since it's completely insensitive to the concern of the public, it has to stop. Hungary just stopped the airing of LGBT content on their airwaves until late night and has removed every of such content from their academic curriculum. The programme is misleading youths and promoting immorality. But the government should not ban it. Largely because, nowadays, unlike when I was growing up, and we only had NTA...meaning if NTA showed garbage, we had to watch it, or switch off the tv...these days, we have 1) a multiplicity of channels 2) the internet. 3) books. 4) video and DVD players/flashdrives/Hardisks/external storage. MURIC should just advice their brethren to switch the channel. Like I do. I have known of Big Brother since the late 1990's, and was aware when it came to Naija in 2003. And I was not interested, never watched it, only saw some highlights...because I either changed the channel or did something else with my time. Who wants to watch a group of adults doing immoral and sinful stuff on TV...when you can watch some good sporting action at the Olympics, or some documentaries on Discovery? We now have lots of alternatives to Big Brother on DSTV...including at least 2 Islamic channels, 7 or 8 Christian channels, documentary channels, and sports channels, and news channels. With a lot of decent programmes for someone to watch. And then there is star times which does not offer BB, or nilesat, or the internet. We don't live in a nation where everyone and his brother MUST watch BB. Maybe Muric should advice people to switch off their TV SETS...and phones and laptops, and ipads...maybe people would start talking to one another well well. 1 Like |

Someone needs to educate these clowning so called elders that Nigeria is not Iran, Iraq, Saudi Arabia or some other human rights-violating contraption out there... That democracy comes with a price! Such intolerance covering despicable hypocrisy is the very reason this nation can never grow... How has banning Twitter improved the economy, psychology and lives of the average Nigerians??! How will banning a simple entertainment program in the midst of countless others make Nigeria more developed??! Another stupid assertion. I don’t like the program and I think it is a waste of time but Nigeria is not a theocracy. The program is rated PG 18 and i have not learned of anyone forced to watch or consume the content. Please worry about achieving the objectives of your organization, whatever those may be 2 Likes |
