Very interesting pics, OP. Thanks for posting. Funny how the effects of christian colonialism now make us frown on dreadlocks and men's plaited hair, which are clearly our tradition from ancient times. Many of us now see those as 'foreign styles'. Damn, we're messed up.

Oyibos noted the fact that Igbos were lighter than Yorubas and other Africans.

It is difficult to determine the complexion of someone from those anci not black and white cameras, but one obvious fact is that they are all much fairer than their hair

It only proves the vast majority of Igbos are dark skinned even if a significant minority have a lighter complexion.

All the people in those pics are lighter than Tinubu and Obasanjo. Some might even be as fair as Maduka, but the ancient black and white camera used in covering them is not showing it.
Anyway, the white people that saw these Igbos in real life commented that they were generally much lighter than the other Africans.
Real life observation is more reliable than pictures from archaic black and white cameras

Do you think being light-skinned makes you better?

You sound like you've a really twisted mentality around skin colour.

It doesn't make us better, which is why we don't understand the source of your jealousy for Igbo fair skin.

This is in spite of the fact that Yorubas are reputed to use most of the bleaching products in Nigeria

Why do all these people frown when taking pictures

After SARS will come and tell us dreadlocks and braiding of male Nigerians hair is not part of our culture undecided

cause it took so much time for the camera to take and process the pictures. This was in 1930's and 1940's
