Afghanistan is very very rich in natural resources... Trillions of untapped resources... The US couldn't get their hands on them cos of the constant war, but with China making a peace deal with the talibans it could be an opportunity for China to expand it's geoeconomis (China's BRI) into Afghan same way it has done to Pakistan and some Southeast Asia countries.
