Former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has said more Nigerians are becoming “Biafrans” under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. Atiku made the remark while lamenting that the Buhari-led government has failed to heed the call for restructuring of Nigeria. Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, the former Vice President also accused the Buhari-led government of failing to respect the constitutional provisions on federal character. The former Vice President noted that the symbolic gestures that make ethnic groups feel a sense of belonging have been scorned by the government. According to Atiku, the result of such action is that “agitations that turned more groups into Biafrans have become even more strident and, in some cases, violent”. The former Vice President also maintained that restructuring would help fix some of Nigeria’s cultural and regional challenges. “The fixing or restructuring will help in our nation-building project because it will help to foster a sense of nationhood out of our disparate groups, cultures, religions, and regions. “We must restructure our country in a manner that allows various segments to develop at their own pace and not be held back by the centre or other segments. Developed segments will spur development in other segments because what they do well will attract the attention of others. “That may make a Nigerian union more attractive and nation-building easier. Our poor nation-building record should not be an excuse for developmental inaction or backwardness.” Source: https://dailypost.ng/2021/08/19/more-nigerians-have-become-biafrans-under-buhari-atiku/ 2 Likes 1 Share

Okay... ...noted that the symbolic gestures that make ethnic groups feel a sense of belonging have been scorned by the government... That there, is one reason most people think that persons like MNK are only leveraging on the advantage created by the actions and inactions of Buhari's administration to scam people. When a group of people feel sidelined, or cheated, or hated, or oppressed, they are most likely to agitate. Now, this agitation could pass for a show of frustration, grievances and disagreement—mostly frustration. Anybody who proposes a utopian nation to such people at such moments becomes a messiah; a leader. He could gain full mental or psychological control of those people. Other forms of control might follow suit. Genuinity becomes difficult to spot. Before now, it had been the Igbos, but then we began to hear novel names like Oduduwa Republic. It was expected and almost normal for such developments to occur, given that every party had begun to eat from the very plates with which the Igbos were served. While there may be organized Biafras present in Nigeria, know this; there are a lot of them dotting the whole nation as individuals who have been feeling the brunt of this unquestionable government. |

Atiku is now shouting restructuring on top his voice but, when you give him power he'll start misbehaving like Osinbajo and his oga that developed ear infection after winning election. Atiku should do us a favour and go and chop stone. 2 Likes |

Atiku just wants to restructure the country so it will favour his fulani people. He is serious about restructuring. But just as the north used the military despots of the past to restructure Nigeria to thier favor using State creations, he's determined to make sure that they country is foundamentally restructured in ways that favor the core north in a very sustainable and enduring pattern..., Solid enough to guarantee another century of northern domination of Nigerias politics. So those of you Southerners that join him to call for restructuring should be aware that Atikus brand of restructuring is far different from your brand of restructuring.. |
