30% oil profit for oil exploration in the north for a country that is talking of diversification of economy from oil is a huge mistake, this money should have been used for the construction of cuttage industry in all towns and local government in Nigeria. By 2030 all this petrol cars will be faced out,is our government even thinking of the feature, why ernmark such huge resources for oil exploration in the north while our youths are dying of hunger and poverty with unemployment everywhere, what if we didn't discover oil in economic quantity after spending the money

I have read the article twice and still can't find where he made the statement credited to him.
Anyway, if the lawmakers from the south voted for the passage of the bill, then, I can't blame any northerner for making careless statements regarding the PIA.
One revenge against the lawmakers that saw its passage is for the electorates to unite and make sure they don't return to the National Assembly. If they seek re-election, vote against them.
I will vote against the senator and member of the House of representatives from my senatorial District and constituent respectively.
They can't continue to feed fat on bribes given to them to go against the electorates.

Why is ipob insisting on including niger delta in biafra.....is it not because of the same oil you are calling some people parasites ......IPOB will rather fight for niger delta oil than concentrate on producing its own oil (palm oil) in its 5 states only
Is it fulani that is claiming niger delta to be part of biafra?.....the niger deltans are wiser.... and who are you to insist they slave under you instead of under Nigeria.....we both want to subjugate them and they chose Nigeria....deal with it or you can go and die

The 3% is far greater.

It is 3% of the operating cost of all the companies in the oil sector. Be it shell, Agip, Bp they must pay 3% of their operating cost each. If all the companies are up to 1000, all of them must pay 3% each.

The 30% is from NNPC alone. And it’s from NNPCs profit after tax and all expenses. It’s not even from all NNPCs profits because NNPC will be into 3 fronts and the 30% will be from just 2 out of the 3 fronts.

Operating cost is always far bigger than profit because it is after you deduct your expenses and tax from operating cost that you get your profit.

Why do you think the host communities are silent? They know what is coming to them.

Igbo communities in Rivers and Delta States produce enermous oil. We are not going to abandon them because they produce oil! Should we? Your government massacred people at Obigbo few months ago. Obigbo is Igboland! Obigbo is in present day Rivers State! They were killed because they wear their igboness proudly and arrogantly! They will all be brought back into the fold at the appointed time. Their is nothing an Internet iguana will do to change this from happening..

Looking at the charts, atleast 18 percent of Nigeras Oil is derived from igbo communities, this is not including the newly explored natural gas in the SE. For decades now, massive oil exploration has been going on in igbo territories in and outside the South East. Etche in rivers state, Ohaji egbema in imo and rivers state, so many communities in Abia state, Well over 4 Billion Dollars is collected every month from Igboland, what exactly are you doing about it? Why arent we in atleast the 2nd Biafran war?

Please enough with the nairaland ranting, non of the oil producing communities in Nigeria are serious about controlling their resources. Igbos included.

Go & attract investors, create hospitality & infrastructure, They will blame President Buhari for not building it for them? Even barely 20 years now, all the major oil companies ran away from the creeks & came to Lagos to establish their Headquarters.

You know nothing. You be otondo, olodo. Go and read history of what made oil companies to relocate their headquarters from ND to lagos.

You can also tell the oil companies to relocate their oil wells and pipelines to Lagos and Daura.

This would have made more sense if the Northern golds were sold to fund oil exploration in the Southern states. And the said gold in the North what happens to the money generated from it? Well all these things happen basically cus of the Southern greed. Governors, Lawmakers and stakeholders in the south are just after their pockets how on earth is 3% to host communities logical? The problem with this country remains that every region wants the head of the other. All most all the refineries in the south if not all are currently not functional yet the FG is channeling all the resources into growing Dangote’s refinery and making the already rich Northern politicians richer and not the entire northern region. We don’t necessarily have to ignore the potentials of the entire country just to grow one man. There are up to 5-7 Americans currently on the first 10 richest people in the world. But tribalism, ignorance, wickedness, recklessness and foolishness won’t let us see these things. A random ignoramus will still come n rant about jealousy hopeless people.

Your comprehension is laughable. In this case 3% Is far bigger than 30%.

If you want to learn then this the illustration. The 3 is from the annual budget of the operating companies so if the opex is 3billion USD then 3% is 90mln to be paid whether the companies make profit or not. 30% of nnpc profit can't be up to 90lmn.
