Sometimes or most times we get down on ourselves with the thought that nobody likes us and then we withdraw from social activities. This kind of feeling negatively affects our self esteem and confidence.

If you're feeling this way, here are five suggestions for dealing with it.

1. Go back to the origin
Without you realizing it, you absorb the influences and habits of those around you as you grow up. It's not something we're all aware of, but it has a significant impact on the way we think and act. When we were younger, most of us can recall at least one individual who was critical of us. These external critics, whether they were a parent, an aunt or uncle, or a teacher at school, all had a role in the formation of our inner critic. Our unpleasant childhood experiences can develop on us and stay with us for a long time, forming a mentality that only invites negative outcomes. Find out the origin of yours.
