About as safe as playing with a rattlesnake! In today’s Nigeria, what type of wicked employer will insist his staff travel to Abuja at short notice without even giving them flight ticket or money to buy one!? |

Mummyfour: Many truck drivers have turn that route to a safe heaven. It can be like that at times, okene was a sure bet but it is a death trap at night. The road btw okene and ogori mangogo. No security post, it's pure forest, only you and your God to pass tru a 15mins road. Niger state is the fastest route but my God that road is not good, Bida to mokwa a journey that shouldn't last 1hr you will spend 3 hours. God have mercy. We are not asking much from this government, just give us good roads and security. We will hustle the rest 1 Like |

play5050: It is not safe. Accident. Kidnapping. If it is a must, plan for 2 days trip to avoid being on road at night. Lagos to Ado-Ekiti or Akure. Phase 1. Phase 2 is Ado/ Akure to Abuja. Each phase is about 6 to 7 hours. Night travel can be avoided with this. You can find somewhere to stay in Akure/Ado. |

I ply Lagos to Abuja route very easily with night buses and I follow Ekeson. Go to Jibowu, Ekeson's first bus leaves by 4PM prompt, by 5-6AM, you're in Abuja already. At least you can rest before going for your meeting. 1 Like |

If it’s as unsafe as you’re being advised I doubt busses would plight the route as often and fully patronised. |

I advise you go to Ojota park. There you see plenty buses loading Abuja from 5 pm to 10 pm. But don't enter big Lorry, else you will see yourself in Abuja by 2 pm tomorrow. |

With the current security situation, even travelling during the day is by the grace of God,let alone night. Tell your company you cannot travel by road it's very risky. If they still want your service they will make provision for flight ticket. Life is good |

play5050:Good day, in spite of the security challenges which many have spoken on, trust me people travel on night journeys these days than they do during the day. ABC, EKESON, GUO, are best bet for Fast, easy and reliability. Students, traders etal, who has something to catch up with next day frequently ply the highways safe. Most of the companies that ply night journey has some sort of security initiative. Go ABC. |

play5050:If only flight way is not possible, the least you can take is those registered luxurious buses. Avoid the small buses. if u'r also still bent on road journey, it's advisable to take off from Lagos around evening so that you can get to Abuja early in the morning...good buses are in IDDO...Also, you can split ur journey into two. The long journeys are usually accompanied with body aches and headache. Again if it's possible, opt for flight for the one time journey. |
