4 Important Things Igbos Should Know Ahead Of President Buhari's Visit... (pic) by Nobody: 6:57am On Sep 08, 2021
Its no longer news that the President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari will be paying a visit to Imo State on Thursday Sept. 9, to commission some significant projects. The news was disclosed by Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State on Saturday when he came back from Abuja to Imo State through the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport, Owerri.

In view of the President's arrival, many Imolites and other Igbos have been reacting to the upcoming visit with critcisms with some people asking for the essence of the President's visit since he has not been in the region for a very long time. While some people have commended the President for the visit.

In this article, I will explain 4 important things the Igbos should note ahead of the President's visit.

President Buhari never hated the Igbos for any reason.

Just like the infamous saying by the Igbos that the region is marginalized and that the President doesn't respect federal character, the Igbos should note that the President also appointed many Igbos into his administration since 2015.

Recall that the Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria is an Igbo Delta who was appointed by the past administration of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2014 but he is still serving as the CBN Gov. till date. Others are the Director of National Centre for Disease Control, Chikwe Ihekwazu, who is an Igbo man. These appointments and many others show his love and care towards the Igbos. The East-West road, 2nd Niger bridge, govt grants and many others have been among the many developmental projects the President has directed to be done to the region.

President Buhari respects the Igbos a lot.

Recall that with the advent of Covid-19 in 2020 and till now, there have been travel restrictions in Nigeria and other parts of the world so as to avoid further spread of the virus.

Recently, the Covid-19 lockdown was eased by the Covid-19 committee,so President Buhari deemed it fit to come and commission some projects in Imo State. That shows total respect and love for the Igbos in general.

The Igbos should present the Biafra issues to the President.

With the upcoming visit of the President, it has afforded the Igbos the ample opportunity to present the Biafra agitation issues to him inorder to rectify the the problem. It will also afford the Igbos the opportunity to remind him of the 2014 confab where representatives of different tribes, religions, states, government and individuals assembled to discuss and come to round table conclusions of different issues bothering them in the country. With Buhari's visit, the Igbos should table their issues to him and possibly find answers or solutions from him.

The Igbos should not engage in any form of demostration or sit-at-home order on Thursday.

No matter what the grievances of the Igbos are, they should never engage in any form of violent demostration or even declare sit-at-home order. Infact, they should come out en masse to welcome the President and his entourage to the State.

This will show how responsible they are. It will also show that they respect the personality of the President.

With all these in place, the Igbos stand to gain valuable conversations with the President and possibly resolve some issues bothering them and their region at large.

What do you make of these Important ideas that the Igbos should adopt? Do you see it as a step in the right direction?

[/s] Gibberish!!

Buhari visiting south east is a kind of mockery to ndi Igbo,he lacks every moral of stepping his filthy feet on Igbo soil....

After killing our youths in the name of ipob, after the negligence and marginalization, after the derogatory comments on ndi Igbo after all sidling in political appointment what moral right does he have to visit south east??

With no apologies any Igbo man coming out to welcome buhari after the air bombardment and military siege in imo less than two months ago is a compound f**l and an idi*t!!

He is just coming to check if his foot soldiers he sent to kill igbos did a good job...

This will show how responsible they are. It will also show that they respect the personality of the President.“

You mean after 6 years of describing them as '5%ers' and 'a dot', the President now wants to know how responsible the Igbo are? grin

If GEJ had restricted northerners to the same appointments as buhari has given the Southeast, he would have received a lot more than the stoning he got in Kano State.

Majority of the people will seat at home not out of fear of IPOB, but because the president & his kitchen cabinet has shown nothing but disdain for the Igbo since they came into power.

That Igbos like Ngige & the 'Supreme' Governor are playing the role of 'squealer' won’t make a difference to them.

Buhari visit to Imo is a sign of misplaced priorities.

Buhari should visit those states in the North that have been savaged by unknown killers and commemorate with families.

That is what a sensible leader should do rather than wasting his time visiting Imo state.

You guys sat at home for several weeks because of Covid what did it change?

Abeg stop drinking panadol for Igbo people matter.

At first you guys said hunger will pepper the Igbo for closing their shops. The shop owners have debunked that by reminding you fools that they sat at home for weeks without getting kobo from the government and survived. That closing their shops twice a week ( Sunday and Monday) won't kill them. After all, working days in Nigeria is 5 days.

Now you have come to ask what will change. Let the Igbo worry about that you don't have to make that your problem. Just face your front and try to improve your own lot in life the way you know best while we do ours the way we seem fit.

Well an average Igbo man does not care for Igbo presidency after all how did Buhari presidency better the life of an average Haisa Fulani man? The only crop of Igbos having nightmare on who becomes the president are the politicians. Whom are no different from their counterparts from the North and West and South.

The North have produced more president/head of States than other regions combined, yet the average northern is in the same shit as the average south, west or Easternerns.

So what is the fuse about the presidency?

What IPOB is asking for is out and has nothing to do with the presidency chikena.
