bobowaja: Ngelale hands are tied. He has to protect his job. AMAECHI boy at helm of affairs at the juicy NMA was removed by the Presidency sometime ago. As I said severally, Nigeria is not a country but a theoretical entity called Northern Interest. Nigeria in its entirety is just Northern Interest. Ngelale, You! You said Wike is a tribalist because of VAT. When Wike took 500 Million naira to Sokoto State because of Fire incident you didn't say anything. You said Collection of VAT by FIRS is perfecting Nigeria’s union. The Colonial Master did not establish Nigeria Union based on exploitation. Regional system and true federalism is the basis by which Nigeria was established and governed. Nigeria,s Union means Northern Interest. Anybody who is against Northern Interest is against Nigeria. For how long are we going to continue like this ? Ngelale must survive. 2023 is still far. FIRS brought a Yoruba man and IBO woman to defend them, Presidency brought a Rivers man on Channels TV and a Fulani man ibkhaleel001 on nairaland just because of VAT. There is something hidden about this VAT that is about to be exposed. |

Ibkhaleel001:in as much as i enjoyed your argument to a fault, you lost focus when u deviated to the hype of the north,if truly the north was once an industrial hub they shouldn't be bothered with individual states collecting her vat,to me most states loose focus because of federal allocations, they are dependent on it which shouldn't be so,do you knw how many wildlife reserves and tourist sites that have been abandoned because of non challant attitude of states, because they don't necessarily need to generate revenue from there, federal allocation is on the way,my opinion is if states, most especially states that generate low tax revenue, start collecting what they make, they will sit up,they will take empowering their populace serious(a state in the north empowered its youths with 3 tubers of yam one cutlass and one hoe this year),states won't embark of projects they cannot afford, states won't borrow excessive funds they can't afford to pay, states will create business friendly environment for people of other regions to come and invest |

Sirjamo:Do you not pay the shipper for transporting your goods go the port and then the driver from the port to kano state? If you want to do inter state business or inter country businesyou should be ready to pay the cost. There's always a price for change. It's not normal for us to do the same thing over and over again and expect different results. It's time to give states a chance to manage their own resources. That way we'll know who wields the power and who to hold accountable. There's too much power at the centre and any tribe who holds it makes others feel threatened. This is a huge win and we are ready to pay the price for the change. |

The way people quickly forget their past as soon as they are called to "come and chop", is abundantly manifest in our DNA! Chai! See Ajuri of yesterday o! See Adesina who was a vibrant journalist of yesterday is now a complete shadow of his former self. A completely transmogrified personality! It is a Nigerian trait! As soon as we find ourselves in the other side of the divide, our ability to reason properly takes immediate flight! Well, someone would tell me that they are doing their job as the devil's advocate! |

My friend, don’t read economics upside down because of your present pecuniary interest that will expire soon when you are kicked out of office. Remember that you will go back home to your people. VAT is a consumption tax, paid by a consumer at a point where the goods are purchased. Imported goods are not consumed at the ports, rather importers pay IMPORT DUTIES (tax), to the Federal Government for their goods before they are allowed to take away their goods. You know well that the importer takes his goods home and decides the price that he will sell. You pretend not to know that it’s at this point the buyer now pay the VAT. Stop fooling yourself. Fulani slave. |

Ibkhaleel001: Whether it's Alhassan or Aminu, the north was and is still the poorest part of Nigeria. I won't even debate the fact you reeled out about Alhassan whatever. Fact is, Lugard had to fight for aid from the southern budget twice in the 1900s to keep the WAFF. It was that gaping need in its finances that led to the idea of amalgamation. Even now, Dangote is the richest man but the north is still the poorest. True or false? |
