How far is pigin English.

1. How are you doing?
2. How is it going?
3. How is life?

For example: almost everyone in naija who speaks pidgin after meeting one for a long time uses it. The conversation can go like this: "O boy, na your face be dis?" (O boy, you are not around again). "E don te ooo" (It has been long). "How far na?" (How is it going?).

So you can see that its a phrase used for greeting, and it is as common as water. Even old men use it. Politicians use it.

But I dont deny yahoo boys don't use it too. In fact, most use it in business also. Anywhere you have expectation, you can use it. How is the business going? How is the church service going? How is the scam going? "How far? How market?" How is the soccer match going?

Eviana, how far na? You may reply..."O boy, leave me joor, after you don "yab" me here, you kon dey ask me how far?". (Guy, leave me alone, after you have abused me, you are asking how good is it with me). And then, the naija boy will try to beg you that it's not like that. Seriously, that's how naijas roll.

See, for me to say how far? I wrote it even in a joke to mock you....thats a sign of friendship in naija. Its left with you to know how to use it to draw the person closer or you insult the person too. And even you insult the person, it doesnt mean "how far" will not still come out of either of the people. It may even be you after taking your revenge will even say "how far?"
It means....now that I too have ridiculed you, how is it going with you? Do you enjoy it? Can you see how "how far" is used in different ways. It is the most common slang in Nigeria.

It is an effective strategy that will keep 9/11 from happening again without the US spending billions to continue staying in Kubal. After all, the opium they said they wanted to stop its cultivation has doubled in a space of 10 years, and has even tripled. And the money to sponsor terrorism keeps coming from opium sales while many keeps running mad and depressed due to usage. And they still waste tax payers money to treat these people. They waste money to fight Taliban, and they pay more treating drug addicts. Even the US knows their own are corrupt and are aiding them. Even the useless ex Afghanistan president who ran away was taking his cut from the sales. People keep wondering why he ran away. The useless man has always been doing opium business with the Talibans. Even a few bad americans have secretly made enormous wealth from terrible business. So why should the govt keep wasting tax payers money keeping their soldiers there? But the exit strategy was poor. This is just my grudge with the Biden's admin action. They made the right decision, but executed it poorly cos they were in too much hurry to fulfill that promise.
