This is silly, were was ECOWAS when the president refused to leave at the end of his term but instead altered the constitution to allow him contest for a third term? When citizens protested, they were killed, what did ecowas do? Absolutely nothing. They always watch while the political oppressors oppress in the guise of non interference in internal affairs of any state but quickly gain balls when the oppressed challenge the oppressors.

I can see the underhand of Nigeria in this, vice president osinbanjo made a comment about this recently. They are using it to send warning to intending coup plotters and agitators here in Nigeria

Ecowas should be proactive. Sanction and ban Presidents who suffer their citizens who dont improve the lives of their citizens.
Dont wait till those citizens react through coup or the likes before you wake up suddenly

Ecowas ia only trying to be politically correct not that they don’t know they are wrong. Once they New Democratic Government is formed they will recognize it as usual bt not a military government.

Come and sanction Nigerian politicians who are sponsoring boko haram and bandits.. Inclusive of their sons and daughters, relatives.
