The problem with this government is that they don't like the truth. They've run out of ideas and are now chasing phantoms. The Naira will keep nosediving until they can fix the economy. |

Educationalserv: Ignorant comment. First of all the firm is neither located nor registered in the UK. Secondly, various platforms publish rates or have tried publishing rates only that AbokiFx have been most successful because of their accuracy (see below). Thirdly where do you think the crypto rates you read are gotten from? Fourthly Abokifx has been in existence for 7 years most of which time Naira was stable 2 Likes

ivolt: Let me school you on Governance In Nigeria There's legislative arm (upper and lower chamber) they enact laws. They use laws to achieve results working through the executive There's the executive arm. The MDA's they have a Board,advisory/Governing council, a Minister and A perm sec at the highest level. They work with policies (when there is no law)to get results. So Emiefele can authorize and adopt an executive policy for finance in Nigeria (which he has done) so long as it does not conflict with any existing law or the constitution. |

phineas: Information and statistics are a fundamental part and parcel of economics. The governments prickiness isn't about statistics (AbokiFX did not just surface) but statistics that paint it in bad light. It's obviously the government is stung by these stats. Trust me, if the exchange rate was stable, the government had no beef with what abokifx published. Now, that the Naira is experiencing a free fall, abokifx is the boogeyman that takes the fall Government must allow market forces to determine the exchange rate and this mess will be tidied up overnight. 2 Likes |

grandstar: Where in the world do you see a parallel market dictating a country's exchange rate? Some countries might see it and treat it as espionage or acts against the State. Why is it okay in Nigeria when the CBN says it isn't? It's foreign currency thats been sold like second hand clothes on the street and the aboki man determining the value of a country's currency based on What? 1 Like |

Emefiele remains the worst CBN governor in at least 30 yrs. How can a platform that ONLY reports currency rates be responsible for the devaluation in a currency? Good God. That's the equivalent of CNN reporting increase in teenage pregnancies in US then the govt blames them for the rise. Will Nigeria ever recover from Buhari and his cohorts? lalasticlala: 6 Likes 1 Share |

Blue3k: If the Naira is market determined, it would fall at the CBN rate of 410 to about 470. If the governments resumes supply to the BDC's at 465, the Naira's free fall at the parallel market would stop and the currency should firm up to around 470, which could see the 2 rates almost merging. |

phineas: The CBN put more foreign currency into the economy than these Àbokis now . The CBN should look inward and be more creative on how they disburse the foreign currencies into the market. Some of their official are manipulating it. You can't blame the outcome of the World Cup of Champions League on Naijabet. Have you ever wondered how notes like #200 and below find their way into circulation when banks and atm don't issue it? Some CBN and bank officials sell them. And what has the CBN done about that? |

Kingpele: I have never seen where the genuine solution to a problem is restricting information or killing transparency. If you observe the following: 1. The FG suspending Twitter and trying to monitor or kill social media through an obnoxious bill at NASS. The excuse is that some people are trying to use social media to subvert the country. 2. The FG through the NBC trying to control both public and private broadcast stations on reportage of insecurity, killings, Boko Haram and other related issues. One of the excuses is that they don't want the moral of the military fighthing insurgency to be dampened. 3. FG trying to intimidate CNN for EndSars reporting, claiming the army didn't commit attrocities. Fortunately or unfortunately, discoveries at the ongoing EndSars panel in Lagos buttress the fact that the army fired live bulleta at the scene! 4. Arm twisting AbokiFX to stop publishing rates despite the rates being sourced from the open market with 1 or 2% variation at best. The excuse is that AbokiFX is selling Forex or manipulating rates; allegations without evidence! All these point to a manner of thinking well obtainable in North Korea and other repressive regimes that try to paint different pictures of reality to make up for their failure. FG should address root problems instead of trying to suppress information. Suppressing information will not make Nigeria Army to win Boko Haram. It will not make Naira to appreciate against the Dollar or Nigerians on social media to become patriotic overnight when the failures of the Government are staring them in the face on a daily basis. 22 Likes 7 Shares |

Funny kwontry ! 1. Does CBN know that anyone can start a website for $10 and publish rates ? 2. Going by their idiotic analysis, anyone from any country can open a website and publish daily exchange rates of any country of their choice, and automatically the citizens of that country will be exchanging currencies at that published rate . Does that even make sense? ? 3. Does CBN know what demand & supply means ? 4. If AbokiFX shuts down, 1000 other sites can spring up within 10 minutes doing the same rate publication. 5. AbokiFX is not your problem CBN, Nigeria's economy is flailing hence the naira's freefall. 6. A country that imports almost everything with minimal exports always experience such, it's not exclusive to Nigeria 7. Allow the naira to float on its own and find its natural level, like every sensible country does with its currency. 8. Nigeria does not have the money to keep shoring up the naira, defending the naira is the actual manipulation not AbokiFX 9. Emefiele should QUIT, he's lost the plot. 2 Likes |
