The politicians only get away with it because we ordinary Nigerians are evil and extremely poor in reasoning.

If you criticise a politician, another ordinary Nigerian that has probably never tasted the loot of that politician will start attacking you because of religion or tribe he shares..

While Politicians are bad ordinary Nigerians are worse, its almost the perfect match..

Who knows secession(split in to countries with similar ethnicity and religion) might be better for accountable leadership, but then again we black people always find a way to be stupid and hold ourselves down, might end up being worse..

You said nothing but the truth. Nigerians are the worst set of human to live on earth. Very sentimental entities cursed with religion/ethnicity and tribe. We all are still in Nigeria, whatever choice they make during election due to sentiment, we all will bear the consequences and suffer it together. Stupi*d people that can never reason rationally for once.

Sadly this is the truth.

Only few Africans can see the big picture. Only few can see that the country must come before personal interest and there's something called standing for the truth.

But to most of us and sadly, our leaders, their stomach comes first and then their loyalty to the person in power so long as he takes care of that stomach they are first loyal to.

I doesn't matter if the country is destroyed. They don't care for anything about the country.

This is why we must restructure. Let's remove the power from the center so that no single individual can destroy the whole country simply because he didn't go to school or want his ethnic group to hold power forever. It doesn't make sense for all resources of our nation to be sent to Abuja and then redistributed as one single person deemed fit.

Let everyone control their resources and if they like they can appoint fools to govern and mismanaged them.

Restructuring will not only help end ethnic problems but will also reduce loyalty to political figures.

Brilliant. It is the one and only way out for Nigeria. Nothing we have not tried simply because many wanted to keep pushing the now discredited "one Nigeria" ethos that is today simply another name for self-created regression and oppression.

The more we delay restructuring the more we postpone the evil days. As simple as that. We must restructure so that everyone, every State and every region has to be directly responsible for their own progress and development.

This will help everyone including those who feel they do not have the capacity to thrive without leaning on others. It may be tough initially but everyone will be forced to dig deep and find inner strength, survivalist innovation and enduring capacity. When the going gets tough then the tough must get going.

Lol ... In the psychiatric field this is classed "black man, black problem"... It's in our DNA.

Solution is in our DNA, and the solutions is start lynching politicians and thier cohorts (i.e security agencies such as police, army, EFCC DSS) that they use to terrorize the people and the DNA will start repairing itself.... We black people only learn or change via virtual, we only learn with our eyes and not our brain.

Are you sure? Buhari of ANPP to CPC to APC. Then if you say that is not crosscarpeting, then you are so wrong in that your conclusion have you bothered to check the political history of people like Tinubu, late Ajimobi, Ibori, Okowa, Sule Lamido etc. Don't be biased, learn.

Tell me one problem politicians have solved. There are only there for their interests. I only pity the simpletons that bleed and die while defending the bloodsuckers.
Politicians are only united in sharing the collective wealth of the country but in our case the wealth is not enough so they have engaged themselves in mindless borrowing plunging the future generation into realities unknown. Wicked devils.

THE CITIZENS OF NIGERIA CAN CONDUCT A REFERENDUM FOR THEMSELVES WITHOUT THE DIRECT KNOWLEDGE OF INEC...
BUT THE INEC’S VOTERS CARD IS VERY NECESSARY BEFORE SUCH A REFERENDUM CAN WORK OUT.

..
..
..
BEFORE I BEGIN TO EXPLAIN FURTHER, LET ME MAKE SOME THINGS VERY VERY CLEAR TO EVERYONE THAT IS READING THIS..
..
1. The Current Nigerian Constitution allowed for Referendums Only when there is need to create a new State or a new LGA, or when there is need to adjust the existing boundaries of States or LGAs, or when there is need recall a member of the National Assembly or State Assembly by the Constituents of the Representative.

2. According to the Current Nigerian Constitution, for a Referendum to be conducted, the National Assembly or the State Assembly (as the case may be) must raise the motion for which the Referendum is required, and then call for a Referendum to be conducted by the INEC.

3. The INEC should conduct the Referendum within the stipulated time-frame, and the Simple Majority wins in such Referendums.

4. Only Nigerian Citizens who have Valid INEC-Issued Permanent Voter's Card can vote in a Referendum, since INEC is the only recognised umpire for Referendums.

5. The National Assembly or the State Assembly (as the case may be), can now make people-guided decisions based on the result of the Referendum.
..
..
Meanwhile, the Referendum which most Citizens are demanding for, is a VOTE for the people to decide whether they still want to be a part of the Bigger Nigeria.. But this type of Referendum definitely has no place in the Current Nigerian Constitution..
(There are no two ways about that in the direct sense of it.)
..
But then, since the INEC cannot directly conduct a Referendum for the people, the people can still come out and create an indirect way to conduct a Referendum for themselves, which would pass a very strong message to the tyrants, and also spread our message across to the whole world that we rejected our current tyrant leaders including those stooges they are planning to impose on us.
..
HOW CAN THIS BE DONE??
..
This can be achieved through proper enlightenment of the people in order to deeply understand the demands of the Current Nigerian Constitution, and also on proper Voters Education of the people, so that they can know they powers they possess whenever they come out to vote.
..
The Current Nigerian Constitution gave us a big clue to how we can conduct an Indirect Referendum.
The Section-134; Subsection-2(b) of the Nigerian Constitution says it all.
..
I will explain this section better.
Voided Votes, otherwise knows as Rejected Votes, are also counted as votes, just that they are not valid votes, but they are also counted as part of the TOTAL VOTES CAST.
If a presidential candidate wins in an election, but the voided/rejected votes are too many in such a way that the voided/rejected votes overshadowed his votes in a lot of States, then HE CANNOT BE RETURNED AS THE WINNER OF THAT ELECTION.
This Simply Means that the people in such states rejected every single body that is contesting for that election..

..
(The Section-134; Subsection-2(b) of the Nigerian Constitution states that “the Candidate must have ONE-QUARTER of ALL the votes cast in at least TWO-THIRDS of all the Local Government In the State”.... It didn't refer to only the Valid Votes, but to ALL the Votes Cast, which also includes the voided/rejected votes)
..
With such a Protest-Voting, and without the Usual Electoral Malpractice in Nigeria, the message could be heard loud and clear.
..
Sitting-at-home on an election day cannot pass such a strong message, because those ones who did not vote cannot cause an election to be voided.

This is one of the posts I have ever seen on nairaland that almost everyone agreed. This means that, both the PDP and APC supporters / sympathizers agreed that Nigeria is in pitiable condition and something reasonable needs to be done. If all youths from six geopolitical zones can come together (which I doubt it can happen) to take Nigeria's future from these polithief, history will never forget us.

I come in peace.
