Scripture Texts: Genesis 39:1-13; 1 Corinthians 6:18.

What do you think would have happened to Joseph’s destiny if he had slept with Potiphar’s wife?
Joseph was a man full of wisdom and had the fear of God. The Scripture makes us understands that he fled when his boss’ wife tried to seduce him. He did not bind and cast the demon out of her but fled! Joseph’s action gave us an expo that the only way to overcome sexual immorality is to run! run!! run!!!
Apostle Paul made us understand that when we commit other sin, it is within our body, but sexual immorality unites us sinfully with another person. It unites us deeply both on a physical and spiritual level which has great consequences. Sexual sin therefore includes prostitution, adultery, pedophilia, homosexuality and any other sexual relationship outside marriage.
You may intend to prove that you can overcome sexual temptation by running away from your weakness or you don’t need to run away from your weakness, you just need to be stronger. This is a wrong approach. Your intention to conquering temptation may be right but your approach is wrong. This is because if you continue to stay in the environment where temptation abides, it will rather conquer you. Rather than stick around to prove you can resist, it’s time for you to get your feet moving and resist sin by saying goodbye as you walk out and let the door slam behind you! It is only a strong person that walks away. So, get out!
However, there here are list of sins we need to flee:
1. Flee from gluttony;
2. Flee from evil influences or evil company
3. Flee from morally bad friends
4. Flee from corrupt stimulants (phonography, masturbation, etc.)
5. Flee from youthful lusts
6. Flee from wrongdoings and all the sins listed in Galatians 5:19-21
Right now, you might be thinking on how to flee these sins. I would suggest some points below:
- To flee gluttony, if you’re tempted to overeat, stay out of kitchen or eatery or drink water instead.
- You can also choose new friends that are godly and dispel the corrupt company.
- Take a break from people, places or deeds that usually brings temptation.
- Quit watching movies or TV programmes that can be stimulants or stop reading that immoral novels or materials. Watch or read godly contents rather.
- Discontinue your Internet Service immediately whenever you’re tempted to navigate to pornographic sites that keeps luring you into their seduction. You can even add filters to block these immoral websites.
- Stay away from drugs or alcohols. These are also stimulants.
- Be a friend of God, study the Bible always so that your heart will be Spirit filled rather than being carnally minded (Romans 8: 6-10).
- Lastly, you need to pray to God to strengthen you to flee from these sins after you have strongly determined in your heart to flee. Ask for help from the Holy Spirit and the grace to flee.
Taking this approach may be the answer to the prayers you’ve been praying to be free! So, start applying it!

If you would like to give your life to Christ, this is another opportunity for tomorrow may be too late. Say this short prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I come before You now, come into my life, take control of my life and change my world, in Your name I pray, amen”.

Congratulation!!!

God bless you.

Peace!
