Our politicians and leaders need to act fast. This same thing is happening across all areas in Nigeria.

Something that had progressively deteriorated for 60yrs cannot be fixed fast.

We need more medical schools to churn out doctors like a factory line.

People like u will be like since money is scarce in d country, why not let CBN print plenty money instead of borrowing. Afterall we can print enough as we like..

In the course of building a teaching hospital, employ consultant, that will teach for 6-7 years before they graduate student, that investment u spent would have put u in enough sinking debt more than how u can recover even wen they graduate to serve u.

Ask ur economic teacher why we didn't print Naira Instead of borrowing from China..

Go school and learn u say know.

Some of them will end up treating the Nigerian political elites whom have made UK there current health vacation site.

The government of the day as far as they are concerned ,see this as a win win situation. They care less if there is an acute shortage of qualified and experienced practicing doctors in Nigeria { there actually is) . I just pity the poor masses who keep voting this inept excuse of primates in based on bias

Hmmn. It is well. Like I stated in a similar thread. It's not a big deal to migrate. I just wish they are leaving with their own parents and siblings because no one will cater to them for them.

As a matter of fact, it is everyone's right to migrate to anywhere to seek greener pastures and you don't even need to be educated.

When overseas, I see a lot of foreigners loaded in long buses and being daily conveyed to their work sites and same workers can do same work in their native land but opted to work overseas to earn more so it's not a big deal rehashing the overused excuse that they are paid well overseas. We get it. We equally get why the Cuban doctors will rather stay back for their own parents and country. It's all about value system and personal choices. Nobody should judge them. Even garbage collectors overseas earn more than same modestly paid hardworking garbage collectors here in Lagos.

It is the propaganda and sensational way the news of a doctor transferring his or her service from Nigeria to overseas like every professional and non professional does in most developing countries, is being used that makes me to reflect on why folks, especially healthcare professionals, who choose to stay back can call their bluff whenever they need the help of those who stayed behind to build and not run away .

Those migrating overseas can't eat their cake and have it. Nobody will take care of their parents and siblings for them to the best of their satisfaction. It perfectly reminds me of perhaps why no one took the son of the late CBN deputy governor serious when he was 'instructing ' the doctor here to do CPR on his dad when the guy already did so and the man had passed out but the son kept thinking he could fill his absence on a phone at a time his father critically needs him and would have wished to be under his care .

It's not a secret that nobody takes them serious when they call on phone to intervene after fleeing overseas.

That's why they should learn from the experiences of others. To avoid such scenario, if I am in their shoes,I will rather go with my parents than bank on the folks you are leaving behind. The folks they are leaving behind today to build Nigeria will not abandon their own parents to cater to your parents you are leaving behind.

All the enemies of Nigeria will lose las las. They always lose. God bless Nigeria.

the first enemy of Nigeria is buhari and the second enemy is you and I. Nobody believes in the country. Buhari would get sick and jakpa. He doesn't even value our doctors or educational system. All his kids schooled in UK but you voted him to lead you. A man that is not patriotic but you blame doctors who are migrating to a clime where they would be appreciated. Nobody is a fool bro. Every body wants to be appreciated and not tolerated. As par migrating with parents, some send their parents abroad to seek medical care, if they can afford it. It is the responsibility of buhari to take care of Nigerian citizens. In the developed world, their government does that. Always try and hold government to account.
