Funty:

All what you have to do is to 'google' the name, rather than resorting to profanities!!!

Ndipe:
i was not 'resorting to profanities' i was only saying that i've never heard of her and asking that what genre of books does she write. all you had to was just to answer my question cause i wasn't trying to be abusive.

Re: Who's Your Favourite Author? by Ndipe(m): 11:02pm On May 20, 2006
@Funty, I was ticked off when you wrote the 'h' word.

Her book was primarily about the position of women in the African society. Her first novel, So long a letter garnered accolades from literary experts and won the first Noma awards. That is perhaps the best novel that I have read. The novel was also voted as one of the best 12 African novels of the 20th century. I think it took the 2nd position, right behind "Things Fall Apart"

I also like Aminata Sow Fall. Nna, I really like Senegalese literature. Also like Jane Austen's novel, Pride and Prejudice. Its like any Victorian novels is ok with me. Today's novels, while good are sometimes filled with profanities and sexual deviances. Some novelist thinks it is ok to write the infamous F word in their novel, but would eschew mentioning the word in public, because it does not conform to societal standards? I say what a hypocrite!!!
Re: Who's Your Favourite Author? by funty(f): 1:32pm On May 21, 2006
cool. i've heard of pride and prejudice by the way but i never read it(i've never even seen the book).
