BafanaBafana:

Noah, your article should be titled "Igbos, the most beneficiaries of one Nigeria"
Igbos are mostly business men, and they need a market to ply their trade, being in Nigeria is therefore the greatest blessing God has bestowed on them. See how large and populous Nigeria is, they are free to do business in any part of it.
Furthermore, the whole of Igbo land is smaller than Niger state. So you see, land is scarce making it expensive and reserved for their indigenes. This alone is a good reason why they rush to buy land when they see it well available in other places. In the north there is so much land they don't know what to do with it.

Finally, you being from plateau, I understand your point of view. In the north (except Benue and Kogi) they speak one language . The tribes the have there are Christians and Muslims. The Christians have gradually become much like Igbos in political reasoning, terrible victim mentality, persecution mentality etc. All their thinking is Christian Vs Muslim. In fact, all the talk about islamising Nigeria comes from you. You guys see the southern Christians as your brothers, most of you support ipob and Nnamdi Kanu and always wish to be part of Biafra if it is actualised.

Availability of land is not the problem.
Hausa' fulanis are dragging land and always having conflicts with many Middlebelt people. Why is this so when they have so much land in the core-north?

Secondly, are you aware that Cross river state which is a stone throw from Igbo land is the 2nd biggest state in Southern Nigeria (after Oyo state) and it is like 80% forested? If it was just a question of availability of land, Igbos would have bought up all the lands in Cross river state and settled there, at least it would still be very much close to home.
So it is not entirely a question of land.

We Middlebelt people have more lands than Hausa' fulanis but we still buy lands in Southern Nigeria and build our houses there. Why are the Hausa' fulanis not doing that. Can u care to explain?

Your accusation of Plateau or Middlebelt Christians having victim mentality is your own headache, not ours.
Yes we may speak Hausa' language. India and Pakistan speaks the same language, but go and learn about the bloody partition history between them because the Muslims could never accept to live under a Hindu majority country.
Religion has proven to be stronger than language so many times, especially when ISLAM is involved.

We are very compatible. Over compatible sef dey worry us. The problem of Nigeria are its political and economic elite. They are the ones that have enough money to pay lazy youths to go and kill. They are the ones who weaponized the police, army, navy and airforce against the citizenry. They bought our courts and have the entire judicial system in their pockets...secession will not make the problem go away because the very same members of the elite club in Nigeria today will continue their operations in the break away regions. To compound the problem the elite are united whether they are Igbo, yoruba, hausa, Muslim or Christian but the poor masses irrespective of ethnic or religious affiliation are at war with each other. Do you think Obi Cubana hates Aliko Dangote? Or do you think Allen Onyenma is at war with Otedola? But you will see poor masses getting hired to kill their fellow poor masses. Poverty is evil aswear! Do you think Ganduje of Kano state will not do deals with Uzodinma of Imo state if the deal will profit both of them to the tune of billions of dollars? The day our revolution starts is the day the poor masses quit working for the elite and decide to forget ethnicity, forget religion, agree and join forces to fight our common enemy, the political and economic elite.

Nope, We are not compatible, especially with the Core northern Hausa' fulani muslims.

Do you know how many thousands of lives has been lost to Yoruba vs Hausa' fulani clashes since the last 20 years? Do you want me to give you a timeline?
That of Middlebelt people against Hausa' fulani settlers cannot even be calculated.

The same Hausa' fulanis, how well do they flow with Igbo people?

When a group of people living together are always having regional frictions, it is a clear indication that they cannot be together.

Yes, the elite class will never fight themselves, but they are heavily involved in sponsoring the masses who do the fighting. Is there any difference between the one who sponsors a conflict and the one who executes it?

Jews, Arabs, Hindus, Whites, Chinese, Buddhists and Black Africans all do business with each other and even intermarry each other at the elite level. Does that mean that they are all compatible or can be able to share one country in equal proportions and live in peace??

The bolded is why it seems like we are not compatible. Compatibility is not equality. That you and your wife are compatible does not imply that you and your wife are equal. There are differences between the Igbos, the Yorubas and the Hausa and these differences do not necessarily imply lack of compatibility...Compatibility is the result of different entities, mutually accepting their differences, leveraging commonalities and mutually exploiting the unique comparative advantages that each entity has over the others. The killings you see in the north and all over the country is the result of the political elite harnessing the poverty of the masses to their advantage. I have Igbo friends, Yoruba friends, Hausa friends and even Muslim friends and I have come to see that neither ethnicity nor religion is the problem of this country but the activity of a few plutocrats who would use their position, money and influence to organize the affairs of the country to suit their narrow interests. I have nothing against being wealthy but when you use your power, money, fame and position to destroy the lives of the weak then you are an enemy that should be fought against.

It's a well known fact among the bright minds that ibos are not ready to go. In fact they so much love one Nigeria. The agitation is just a game of reverse psychology.

You are very correct about your definition of compatibility, unfortunately this definition does not include the people of an Islamic civilization.

Yorubas, Igbos, Niger deltans and Middlebelt people for example, we are quite different in customs, mentality, orientation, ways of life e..t.c, but in spite of our differences, we still tolerate each other.
For example, Yorubas (most of whom were muslims) came to Jos at the same time the Hausa' fulanis came to Jos, but have you ever heard of any clashes between Middlebelt people and the Yorubas?
The population of Igbos outnumber Yorubas in many parts of Lagos, but hardly do we hear of escalation of conflicts between the 2 groups. This is what you can call compatibility.

The Hausa' fulanis however due to the kind of Islam they practice have become easy tools for manipulation by jihad sponsors. Whose fault is that?
Take a good look at Mozambique, a country where muslims barely make up 10% of the population, see how they have destroyed the Northern part of the country.

When someone always have problems with other people and is an easy victim of manipulation, such a person needs to first check himself and work on himself before coming into contact with others.

We cannot be forced to carry the cross of Hausa' fulani masses and their gullibility to religious manipulations. It is their problem. They should solve it by themselves. And until they do that, there is absolutely no way anyone can be compatible with them.

Did you hear of the CAN chairman of Sumaila LGA that was killed in Kano? The man is an Indigene of Musawa LGA in Katsina state. He is a real Hausa' Indigenous Maguzawa Christian, yet his own people snuffed his life like it was nothing, just because of religious extremism. Are these the kind of people that need big grammars on COMPATIBILITY? Are they worth it? It is just like talking of compatibility with Afghanistan or Somalia. How does that even work?

The Igbos don't sell lands to non Igbos. Sometimes they even reject Igbos from other states. My Uncle is a victim. They didn't sell him land when he wanted to buy in Imo state.
