Arrogance has over time come to be negatively compartmentalized. Such is justified by an average human tendency to appreciate body languages of humility. Arrogance is vice while humility is virtue, religion and society often reiterate. But what if virtue, no matter how minute, can be unearthed in arrogance? What if the rampant demonization of arrogance is largely (not entirely) done under a veneer of low self-estimation? What if we reinterpret arrogance as we've done to killing (self-defense, divine command/crusade, ectopic pregnancy, euthanasia, for instance, are popularly reckoned as permissible bases)?

Could an iota of arrogance birth innovation and drive an individual to the edge, unusual excellence levels of his/her capacity? If yes, wouldn't the obtainable total vilification of arrogance be another instance of throwing away bath water alongside a baby? Despite the urge to expatiate on these questions, I must not be unmindful of the heading above and hence draw your attention to the worst kind of arrogance: Arrogance in ignorance.

I've seen arrogance soaked in ignorance displayed in real-time interactions, on reality TV shows and social media. You may have as well. These ignorantly arrogant fellows characteristically act as though their unrefined, uncivil ways are supported by indisputable knowledge, reasons. Their narrow-mindedness stares you in the face upon investigation. Almost every effort to correct is challenged. In most cases, they play the "You are judging me" card with tantrums ensuing. Irksome!

The ignorantly arrogant believes he/she knows and should be be unrestrainedly allowed to live his/her truth. They forget their actions/inactions impact those around them, encroaching on their peace of mind and well-being. At the workplace, they claim to have all the answers, which fail almost every litmus test. How can one know so little, yet bask in the illusion of knowing so much? You wonder. Clearly, the ignorantly arrogant would do well as a synonym of empty barrels make the loudest noise. He who does not know and does not know he does not know is strolling to oblivion.
