It was costly in those days two.The salaries and workmanship of those days were like that.

Listen to music of 1980s, you hear something like " a cup of rice is costly, from 50 kobo to one naira " so it is still the same effects. Only God knows why prices are going up in Nigeria.

Most of the ingredients used for the manufacturing of cement are in abundance in Nigeria. In almost every nook and cranny of this over violated country, you will find limestone. Labour is cheap and there is an excess of government incentives to help drive local production of cement since the days of Obasanjo. There's absolutely no good reasons why cement should be selling at its present price! There is absolutely no way Nigeria can build up her infastructure with such high cost of cement. It's a no brainer! This is what happens when people whose culture frown at modernisation hyjack the instruments of modernisation in a country..

Where this country got it all wrong is when the government incentives drawn up to help local production of cement were all skewed to favor one economic terrorist named Dangote. Abacha tried saving this country from Dangote but Obasanjo, Jonathan and Buhari brought him and his Evil practices back into the middle of our national life. Dangote is over pricing cement in collaboration with some few majors in the sector. They have formed a mafia sort of. Reaping the country bare, smiling to the banks , living in beachfront estates outside the shores of the country while Nigerians live in huts and shacks!

It is basically still the same.
That , ₦1,500 was still hard to earn.

The only difference is that , the traders were more well mannered and had respect for customers
"With thanks"
Even the handwriting is more legible, than most University students' of today.
