Both. Crocodiles do indeed shed tears. Apparently they hiss a lot while eating and so something to do with sinuses might be activating the tear glands

My younger step sister from birth till about age 10, do shed heavy tears while eating, and the tears stops immediately she stops eating.
So, I electnto invalidate your claims that no one can shed tears while eating.

Tears are signs of pain or sadness. The tears of a crocodile are not of pain or sadness. So if someone is shedding tears that have nothing to do with pain or sadness ....then their tears are like those of the crocodile.....crocodile tears.
