Great stuff!!! Wow!! This is so so touching and will love to visit this place in the Bahamas some day.

The Yoruba are perhaps the only African tribe that retained its identity and religion despite being forcefully carried overseas. I sometimes imagine the strategy these my forebears used to achieve this. They successfully replicated almost every section of the Yoruba life in these far lands.
May God bless them. Their descendants come on yearly pilgrimage to Ile Ife, Osogbo, Abeokuta etc
I find it interesting as well but have found the answer. Someone else said it on this forum, that’s because Yoruba is a religion. Not just a tribe. Once I heard that it all makes sense. Our way of life supersedes cultures / religions so much so that foreign religions/cultures often bend to the Yoruba culture. Whether it be Santeria in South America, Hoodoo in the U.S. south, or the strong roots of Yoruba culture in Brazil after centuries, the Yoruba culture always survives wherever it goes. The culture is very strong.

Inferiority complex, Yorubas are inferior and like seeking attention for their low esteem tribe

Better than a tribe that have no history and civilization. A tribe that the Jews keep rejecting their polluted blood
A tribe that practice segregation and discrimination of women
A tribe enslaved by Bini, igala, Ijaw, itsekiri and Efiks

There is no comparison between us and them, we were civilised and they were wild animals.

Description on the Yorubas of The Bahamas

Waoh ! This particular race called the Yoruba has continued to celebrate "imo" ,"omoluabi "and "eto" as cultural ethos and affinity from when the world is less explored to the present digital age. Kudos.

Dedicated to yoruba slaves ..

Slavery run in some bloodlines..

Nice one... atleast this remind some humans of who they really are. ..
And how the world see them...

Great stuff

That building serves to remind you that Yoruba will always survive whether in The Bahamas, Cuba, Brazil or Jamaica or anywhere. Probably the only Africans in the new world who still identify with their roots.

It's a thread to educate people on Yoruba slaves in the Bahamas. You see it as low self esteem and inferiority because it's not about your insignificant tribesmen. If you're butt hurt you can jump in the lagoon

You've got time on your hand. Trying to be logical with a Igbo is as possible as sending a mannequin to buy you bread.

Located in the Caribbean island of the Bahamas is Yoruba House, dedicated to freed Yoruba slave descendants.

We have YÒRÚBA societies all over South America and in the Caribbeans. There are YÒRÚBAs outside Nigeria, in Togo, Benin, Ghana and co. Even those Togolese that are not YÒRÚBAs can speak the language fluently. YÒRÚBA is one of the most widely spoken languages in West Africa. Even some Òmó Igbo can speak YÒRÚBA, and can't speak their language.

grin bad belle is allowed...people mirror their insecurities on others without even knowing. Your comment itself reeks of inferiority complex. It's not our fault that we beat you politically and still take your women as wives. If there's anything any Nigerian knowns is that the average Igbo man is insecure and egotistical.
