Many of you are so ignorant about the law.

The law allows law enforcement agents to make an arrest if they personally believe that someone has committed a crime.

However, the suspect has to be charged to court within 24 hours (provided that there is a court of competent jurisdiction within a radius of 48 kilometres from the police station, or in this case, EFCC office) or within 48 hours (if there is a court of competent jurisdiction beyond 48 kilometres from the police station or EFCC office).

If a law enforcement agent cannot gather enough evidence to take the suspect to court within 24 or 48 hours, they can make available an administrative bail.

Just like court bails, administrative bails are free. But there are certain conditions that must be met. For example, you will always need a surety who is not just anyone, but someone that the government can trust, usually a public office holder, who would be required to part with some amount of money which would be returned to them if the suspect appears in court on the stipulated day(s).

It is you that have serious deficiency in understanding how the law works; releasing him DOES NOT mean he is free from the charges, reason why he is placed under bail conditions. He will eventually have his days in court. It is up to the judge to determine if he is to be convicted or acquitted based on the arguments by both sides in court.
