Thank you for your observation. I was scrolling through the comments to see if I will spot at least one intelligent person to confirm that this is a cock and bull story, I am glad I found you. Anyone that can dole of N7M as bribe does not need that job because he would likely have twice that in his savings or at least have people around him/her that can further contribute more towards a more worthy cause. Why would anyone do that for a job that is not certain after paying the bribe ? Anyway, this is the era of #SoroSoke/#LekkiLies where every silly story is believed without facts.

A girl was shot at Ojota by the police during the #EndSars protest, immediately the mother and other members of the family of the victim started screaming on top of their lungs to call the attention of the whole world to their plight. They were not afraid to come out ! In the case of the crooked Lekki Massacre lies, where are the family of the supposed victims ?

Very funny country. Mine happened in 2006 or there about. I had an invite for an interview with Zain(Now Airtel) for Customer care service in Delta state. The interview happened in Zain office at Oghara. I performed so well that the HR person confessed to me that I exceeded their expectation, considering the fact that I came from an engineering background. They promised to call for my employment letter. I still dey wait for the letter though, lol. After about two weeks i called the same HR lady that was impressed with my performance to know if the letter was ready. 'lo and behold' employment letters were sent a week after the interview and i was not sent a letter. I called a friend who worked with Zain back then and he informed me that The governor (Ibori) instructed that only Oghara citizens should be employed.

After then I carried on with my life. About two months later I got a job as an engineer in huawei technologies. Did two years with them, left for Alkatel Luccent (Now Nokia) and finally doing my 13th years with the biggest Network provider in Nigeria as an Engineer(Senior specialist)
I thank God they rejected me.

Most disappointment come with blessings if you have faith and believe in yourself.

You're arguing baselessly, FIRS pays about 4 million upfront every 8 months apart from 250k basic salary monthly for level 8
He may buy a car in 6 months or renovate their house. It's not a big deal

Giving Up In Life Is Never An Option, See This Personal Experience

Good day Nairalanders.
So I saw a thread that hit front page about ways of getting new jobs and I remembered this my personal experience and decided to share

I remembered applying for work at the federal Inland Revenue service here in Abuja, immediately after my service by the way i studied economics , so names was shortlisted for interview, we wrote the test and out of 15,000 candidates, though exams was scheduled separate days because of number of applicants , 50 was successfull and was short listed boom I checked and my name was number 18, my joy knew no bound, I didn't tell anyone as I wanted to take my people by surprise including my parents and siblings. cheesy
after that interview, they invited us for an oral interview.

I attended the interview and after the interview, 35 name was successful, I checked boom my name was number 12 on the list,
After the interview, we where all given breakdown of how the salary was like, omo, I see money tears dropped from my eyes, I was anticipating how to renovate my family house after working like for 6 months and changing my parents car as it was well deserved,

After the interview we where waiting for a mail to confirm our employment letter and posting, after waiting for 2 weeks no news, I went to the headquarters were we did our interview and was reliably informed that new recruit had resume work since, I made further inquiry and I was made to understand that the final interview was done on Sunday, and our names were replaced with people that lobbied,
I shouted, on Sunday, ?? Government work?? And we where never informed and
minimum of 7million naira was used to swap our names with the people that paid.

I find cry, I no see, cry I was depressed for almost 2 months, my babe will come and see me emantiating by the day as I refuse to eat, this girl will come to my house and cry from Morning till night begging me to eat, chai true love they shaa, love really shark her that year, but I bounced back to my feet and moved on.
And thank God, I am doing well for myself, and I pray that the Lord continues to shower me and everyone that refuse to give up blessings in abundance.

Most times when you see people contemplating suicide on the media, don't use it as a joke, encourage them not to commit suicide if u must comment, because most people vent their frustrations on the media waiting for validation, and believe me they do take anything said to them to heart 100%, unlike other people out there, I never contemplated suicide because I know I have got a thick skin and can survive the street, one of the advantages of being street smart, e never get wetin eye never see, so trolling and name calling and shaming on the internet don't move people like me, learn how to develop a thick skin in every situation like this. Most importantly don't ever wait for media validation in your personal life, what the media says don't mean nothing and won't affect you in anyway, know this and know peace

I hope someone learnt one or two things from my story.

Similar experience.

My name was number 9 on the list. It was published online.

Everyday I will Google and see my name and I was very happy. They told us we would get messages to come to Abuja for documentation.

I waited ooooooo

One day I googled and didn't see my name in no9 again. Infact, the whole published list was brought down. Till today, I don't know what happened to the list. I never got a call or text. Someone stole my role. E don dey pain me afresh because I know where I for dey by now

Under a year, I went from begging on nairaland to making more than 2million and back to zero balance again..
But we move.
We must learn a lesson...
We must keep moving till we succeed..
It was a hell of an experience..
If i was asked if I regret my decisions? The answer will be yes and no.. Am way past being depressed even though the situation almost took my life, I go heaven come back but here we are, lesson learnt, eye is totally opened and ideas full ground, na just blessing of God I dey wait for to proceed

The first job in life l would have got, was at NLNG but l was replaced at the last moment by somebody else, who l was told was sponsored by a Northern Sultan. I always thought being brilliant is enough to get you any job in Nigeria
BTW, it was the Oyinbo Head of recruitment who told me and asked me not to lose hope that if they needed more hands, they will contact me. He was honest enough to tell me what happened and for that, l will be eternally grateful to the Oyinbo Man.
They too fall under immense pressure from the "Corruption of Nigerians" and they have no choice than to bend, if they want to continue doing business in Nigeria.
Standing up for One "unknown" Candidate is not worth the effort to challenge the Nigerian Power Brokers
I was already dreaming of Scotland training back then.
But l still thank God, despite the seeming loss, l could be dead by now but here l am, alive and doing fantastically enough for my liking.
Everything works for good.....

Go and ask people that take Customs, CBN, NNPC and other juicy, "No Sacking" Govt Jobs, how much they use, in bribing.
Even Politicians are given "slots" to give to their constituency and they end up selling it to the highest bidder.
People borrow and take loan to get such jobs because they know that it will repay back the "investment" hundred fold over time, in Bribes and looting. grin grin
When was the last time you heard that any juicy Govt job recruited "openly" ro that some random-Joe from nowhere was employed there?
Do you know how many people elope abroad, after paying good money, to be on "Govt List" for some International function?
There are even things that cannot be said on a public forum like this, that goes on in Nigeria.

Someone has asked that we pay #3M for my Wife to be given Customs Appointment, many years ago (that money is worth over #10M in today's money).
We could afford it but l was not really interested in my Wife joining Customs (or any uniformed job for that matter) and l used the "money requested" as an excuse to convince her that it is not worth it but a mutual friend of ours did pay and is high ranking Customs officer till today (dont expect me to even give a hint of who it is, non of our business here).
You pay, you get the job, as long as you did not pay to a fraudster.

Nigeria is completely f*cked!, l hope and pray it does not implode on itself, one of these days.

As for the other #LekkiRants, you are On Your Own (OYO)

I'm happy you bounced back. Sir, I didnt even bother to look for job after my educational. I dropped the certs and started hustling. Those who lost their jobs cos covid 19 has changed everything are seriously suffering. Big hustlers like me...we mooovvvveeeee!

I dont know why people who know they arent connected always go for FG or states jobs when there are jobs online. I mean, whoever does not get job now is not up to date. It's as simple as it is. This is the age of tech, and the jobs you are seeing now are already obsolete. So, why bother going for such.

I advise any young man to start hustling online for better jobs outside Naija. If you have to learn coding, go and do it and stop wasting time looking for one useless jobs that the "man knows man".
The way you people talk about coding is as if it's an ultimatum for success.
Mind you not everyone has interest in online tech. Some of us just want a simple offline job.
