That is exactly what they did at the immigration service in Lagos. It was so bad that if you did not speak Hausa, you couldn't even communicate with the staff. Passport applications were taken 6 to 7 months to complete. It wasn't until an investigative journalist called David Hundeyin exposed it that they quickly began to issue backlog of passports. The guy who got the contract to print Nigerian passports is a well known fraudster and 419ner and he actually subcontracted the job to a company in Malaysia.

You are just right on point. Nothing good can comeo ut of this current administration.

Eliminate middlemen and the process will sanitize itself. Allow applicants to fill in their details or obtain it from NIN and BVN. Generate capture date automatically and notify when it's ready for pickup. All within 5 working days and watch the backlogs disappear. It's not supposed to be rocket science.

oga i went to nis just yesterday, if you no tip those guys for there....you go old for that place oooo. They will deliberately allow you do mistake for the application process just collect money from your hand.......the time for collection of passport is from 3 days to 3-5 months depending on how much you're ready to part ways with.

I applied for international passport at Ikoyi since March this year. Can you believe it's not ready up till now. Stories upon stories each time I visit there office.

The officers mostly Aboki, always feeling like Demigod.

naa! they wouldn't do that, i mean what are you supposed to do if you just renewed the old one 2 months ago and you still have like 4 years and 8 months to go on your passport? Are you gonna throw it away and apply for the new one?

Our system is dirty, until we clean up things there will not be any change. Just image the following:

1. Apply for NIN since 2014 yet not physical card
2. Apply for Passport, you are told no booklet
