The moment he became the highest shareholder

I think First Bank hierarchy doesn’t like Otedola’s face.

That’s why they are issuing statements in favor of Odukale.

I wonder the issue they have with Otedola.

Otedola is also not a banker or someone with experience in the Financial Sector and for him to announce he had become the major shareholder to the public may bring back memories of the UBA experience with Hakeem Bello-Osagie. The motive for making a public announcement in itself is suspect and smacks of a desire to control.

Secondly, compared to Odukale who is also major shareholder in Leadway Group which is into Insurance and Pension Management, Otedola may not be brining much to the table for First Bank.

Subject to the approval of CBN.
Banks are strictly regulated.

CBN lied

The shares are traded on the Stock Exchange and an individual can become a clear majority shareholder by simply buying enough shares

Tinubu owns first Bank and must be probed

Wow! so Tinubu owns First Bank and doesn't know. Why do you guys just open your mouths and just let out rubbish before thinking about it. Some things cannot be hidden. If he owned the bank, the entire planet will know, it is not like owning a private company.

It's not really about Otedola.

This is a case of hand of Esau but voice of Jacob. Pretty obvious Awosika, Otudeko and Co. are trying to regain power using Otedola.

Na normal high level board room politics.
Makes sense, since Oba Otudeko was the one who sold his shares to Otedola to make him have up to 5%. Your conspiracy theory make some sense

Son of a squalor, bald-headed father. You dare have the effrontery to bad-mouth Innoson. All your billionaires are politicians.....thieves.

Awosika is just a puppet in the hands of Oba Otudeko. The brain behind all these trouble is Otudeko, he has even sold his Honeywell business to raise more money to buy off the share in FB.

Corporate politics in blue chip entities is tougher than most people know.
There might be someone somewhere who own a larger stake than these guys. He won't show himself until AGM. And there goes the winning card.

Individual shareholders cannot hold more than 60% of a bank's shares. The CBN has the powers to block such acquisitions.

You are the one who should.

Even if he gets a judgment, he would simply be a creditor. Creditors cannot take over a bank in Nigeria. Banks are special entities. Worse comes to worse, AMCON would buy off the debt from the bank in return for issued shares.

Bottom line, you and Innoson know nothing about banking in Nigeria.

You gave that guy free schooling. You shouldn't have done that na. You should have let them continue fooling themselves, thinking GTBank could be hijacked under fraudulent means. Those people have been eyeing the bank for long but God pass them.

If you read this report, you’ll see that first bank was in a comatose before CBN pumped money to rescue it, because it is “Nigerias oldest bank”
