This is where maturity in Christianity plays out.
Tithing is not necessarily a Christian thing, giving is. Giving to the church and the poor.
Cos tithing is an Old covenant. But Christianity is hinged on a greater covenant

Pastors agree that the old covenant is no longer as good as the new except only when it comes to tithing.

Tithing is neither Old Testament or New Testament things. I will not be able to convince you on the issue of tithing unless God open your eyes or reveal it to you.

You can check my topic here I did not believe in tithe either until God opens my eyes and reveals to me the secrets behinds it. Even if he says it is not a wealthier mater does not mean it was abolished.
The question is what was this tithe being meant for and how it was utilized since we all know that God does not come down to eat or takes it physically? mind you it is not the percentage that matters now, it can even 90 percent. what matters most is the Lords portion, if you are working and you re being paid or you have a business which you are doing and you were able to calculate your profit then you must give God his own portion if you love him. Your own is to obey that instruction how the church utilized the money is not your business, God will Also Judge pastors who misused his money Jesus said I was hungry you did not give me food to eat..

Now listen you might even make heaven without giving to God but being successful in your business is not guaranteed, after all Lazarus also make heaven lol
Please don't tell me about dangote and the unbelievers who is rich without tithing,
they might be rich here and the Bible says what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and loose his own soul, because I believe only Jesus is the gate way to heaven. I don't know if am chatting with a Christian?

What I didn't like about his statement is about giving to his Pastor. maybe he was being sarcastic. when I pay or give God his own portion am not giving it to my pastor but to God,. The money belong to God and not to pastor, God pays all the workers in his vineyard including the pastor. let this mind be in every Christian, a man who loves God does not ague about tithe or what ever you called it. They even give it willingly and cheerfully. lol I used to do that before can you imagine how foolish I was then. but now I will not be happy any time I did not do it. So tithing is not for everybody it is strictly for those who fear and love God , which for my own understanding supposed to be for Christian and not unbelievers.

That is the issue, nothing i n this picture proves anything, hence I stated Nigerians with religion! The people who brought religion into Nigeria happens to live next door to me and I can tell you they do not behave like Nigerians or Africans but their lives is so much blessed than the whole of africans!

People do not realize who the Levites are and that it relates to people who are very poor and have no source of income,. However the tribe Levites still exist today in Isreal

There is nowhere in the Bible as regards to the where it states it was for GOD, how can man give GOD money??The tithe was to help the Levites, people of the tribe of Levi sons of Jacob. If you meet anyone at their point of need you have helped Jesus. This is o ne thing the west does more that us Africans thats why even in thier worse behaviour God still blesses them

Tithe issue is in today's Christendom, thithe was meant for the Levites who were not given any land in the inheritance of Jacob.
Levites were also chosen as the priests who must always be in the temples as intermediary between God almighty and the Israelites.
Another purpose for thite is to make food surplus in the house of God. So that the widows, the fatherless and the needy in the society will have enough to eat.

Today's churches are not using the tithes for the biblical purposes.
Today's pastors are not living like the levites that were originally designed to collect tithes.
In this case study we are debating here, the needy here is the sick man.
The tithe and offering if given to the sick man is well accepted in the spirit realms and in the eye of God

If anyone needs money if he think church is a charity organization, let him go to church at the end of the service the pastor can you his initiative and do the needful our pastor also do that.
