you can find on YouTube or use freetutorialusDOTcom and use uTorrent app. Just learn and understand don't cram, as a beginner you goal is to know the right thing to Google when you encounter difficulty.

Hello guys, this is my first time of joining this thread.
I want to start my journey of software programming, well, I will be leaving my job this month end. I want to learn programming for the rest of the year. I'm a newbie (beginner)
Please I have some questions to ask
1. Can I become a frontend dev if a start learning from next month till the end of the year ?
2. Will I be able to achieve this with the remaining months (with intensive training)?
3. What are my chances of getting gig(job) after this training

I'm also another thing, is that I think going for a physical boot camp ( Lagos )will help me for this intensive training
Please I will love to know if anyone can recommend a good and less expensive physical bootcamp for a newbies like me that will enable me to achieve my goal of becoming a frontend dev within 9months ( but I will have a small side business to fend for myself during this period)
Hoping to get response ASAP
Appreciated

@Xbolmax, personal opinion to your question.

1. Yes you can become a front-end dev before the year runs out.
2. Yes you can.
3. What you need is an internship role afterwards, you need to solidify your skills in a real environment.

Finally depending on your love for it, it can take you more time or less time to achieve. Try and get a mentor or just join the slack channel advertised on this thread.

Don't learn too many things at once. Focus on only one frontend framework and learn it, thats all.

I appreciate your quick response to my questions. But I will love to know if you have an idea of a physical bootcamp in Lagos (Ikeja/mainland) that I can start this training from.(becos learning as a beginner on my own will be difficult and I don't wanna waste time on learn)
Thank you sir

Is there any Bootcamp for web dev. in Abuja I want to join?
Re: Learning To Code Is Hard!!!! by Ofadaman(m): 12:29pm On Feb 28, 2022
There are three major reason people never become good at programming and believe it's hard.

1) They do not have the passion to remain consistent overtime, they study today and return back after a month or so, by then they aren't sure about their capacity and they start afresh, so you'd see them learning same thing over again, Everytime beginners courses and they jump from one trending program to another with no core focus to remain consistent to see it to the very end.

2) They never practice , most coders continue to jam knowledge into their head with no moment to stop and practice what they learn, this is why they find it hard go remember or even think of ways to solve a problem .

3) they try to memorize,. The worst mistake with this is that they want to memorize every function and method, instead learning the logic of problem solving and data structures /algorithm and important fundamentals they resort to craming and memorizing. Just understand the basic problem solving process and fundamentals you can always read documentations and use stack overflow to solve issues as you go along.

Wish I could take all the breaks in the world, but I’m currently interning in two different places, front end dev at the first, Springboot and sql and the other one. And they both come with serious responsibilities. There’s no sugarcoating it really, it’s hard and the funny thing is, it doesn’t even get easier eventually. One just needs to get used to it.

Hello, I feel enlightened and inspired reading your story and I'm happy for you for doing what you love.

I'm a junior myself and I would be grateful if you can shed some light and give helpful advice based on your experience at the internships.

Firstly, what projects do you suggest a junior dev build to land a front-end role? Secondly, do you mind sharing how you went about landing the roles and your interview experience? Finally, do you mind sharing your portfolio and projects that you have built?

I know this a bit much to ask for but I'll be very grateful for your comments on these.

Many thanks!

I started to learn ASP programming. But because of insufficient skills I had difficulties in coding. I managed to find asp programming help and asked for help. Specialists are qualified in this area, so I'm sure they will help me understand.

I've been thinking about the best topic to write about as my first foray into writing as a tech newbie for a long now, and a lot of glamorous topics spring to mind every time. For example, how my life is ten times better now that I'm doing what I enjoy, the simplest method to code...blah blah blah.

What's more, I'll probably be one of the first junior devs to express how I truly feel about doing this, putting aside any glamourous topic that comes to mind. It is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO LEARN TO CODE!! This will put your sanity to the test. Every day, you'll doubt yourself at least ten times. I can't tell you how many times I wept myself to sleep because I couldn't find out what was causing my entire system to crash. OMG!!! Your entire being will be put to the test.

Should I talk about how I don't have a life? I've erased all of my social media accounts because I require all of the world's attention. My only sources of sustenance are energy drinks and biscuits, and I haven't seen my family in 6 months. I'm sure I look pale already. I can't recall the last time I went for a walk in the sunshine. Will I, however, change it for anything? NO! At least for the time being.

Okay, now let me discuss the aspect of this profession that has made me a masochist. It’s definitely The obvious light at the end of the tunnel. One thing is undeniably true. The issue isn't one of programming. It's adulthood it’s difficult to make a good living, and I'm deciding which end of the spectrum I want to be on. I had to leave my bank position because there was no way for me to advance there. I could envision myself as a 40-year-old woman with over 20 years of experience who relies on annual loans to augment her income in order to cover the necessities. I could see myself stressed out by the Lagos traffic, and I could see the sadness in my eyes as I remembered how that young, ambitious girl I used to have perished because I chose to squander my life doing this monotonous, boring low income job. Instead of that life, I'll choose the difficult things over and over again.

If you're a young person who is struggling and can't see a way out, I believe it's time to pick up your laptop, download VScode, and make YouTube your best friend. There is no other career in our nation where I can bet that after two years of hard effort, and I mean serious hard work because studying is NOT FUN AT ALL!!, you will break even. Yes, even if you are unhappy at work, it is past time for you to resign and make a serious decision that your future self will thank you for. Unless you want to be the 40-year-old depressed woman I described earlier.
I sincerely wish there was a simpler way. I wish I didn't have to spend more than 12 hours a day on my laptop, but wonderful things come to those who wait and put in the work.

CHOSE THE HARD THINGS TODAY!!!!!
YOUR FUTURE SELF WILL THANK YOU.
pls throw more light at the emboldened, after downloading it and learning more about it on YouTube

how can i monetize it?
