That is a genre of movie. Even in American movie, the fight, have sex and the actor wins while the villain dies, and game over. However, it is the story that leads up to these that eventually matter.
Don't forget, we also had the love genre, the classic and traditional village pre/colonial throwback versions, the village story genre, the family, marriage, life struggle etc.

This is absolutely true. Nollywood fans related with nollywood classics because such movies were rich storylines that were well directed, with a strong cultural background. The ONLY weakpoint being poor cinematography, which is understandable. What we have now are poor stories, flamboyantly delivered with big budgets, and lacking clear direction. King of boys, wedding party come to mind.
The fact that all that some of the new generation makers have to do is to remake living in bondage and Nneka the pretty serpent of 30 yrs is an evidence that many of the current generation movie makers are found wanting in the creative art of storytelling.

Let me say that it's human nature to always think that arts of a former generation were better. This happens as a result of nostalgia because you've developed emotional attachment to them, not because they were always better.

In 20 years now, people would say the same thing of movies produced today.

The generation loving the movies of today, would say the same thing in 20 years. They'll argue today's movies are the best.

Nneka the beautiful serpent and many other "good" old movies were also heavily criticized when they were released back in the days.

Even if the current Generation watched those 90's and early 2000's, they will definitely see the Difference!

Just like Bollywood movies, When you watch their 70's and 80's Amitabh, Dhamendra and Rishi Kapoor Classic movies, you clearly see the Stark difference with the ones produced from 2005 downwards
Despite the Latter having Better Quality!

She Acted Glamour Girls...and Chinyere in Living in Bondage... She was my favourite actress back then.. I should know..

There are two Jennifer Olisa as actresses back then... There was one that acted PAM PAM.. always acting a twins role with one other lady..
